Passed by on my way home and decided to stop in. Older store, relatively clean, employee asked if I needed any help. Not the greatest selection of craft bee but decent, very well stocked in macros and run of the mill stuff. What few dates on craft I looked at were not overly fresh. Did not purchase anything.

don't forget to look in the LARGE walk in, there is where you will find anything you are looking for. lots of traffic in this place especially on weekends, good selection and steady prices good vibe and the customer service is consistent. by the looks of prior reviews there has been improvements of late and selection has greatly improved. many many craft selections just not sure of the turnover and freshness of beer.

Mddle sized, decent selection, but I have to be very careful with dates on many micro beers. In my times here customers are the rude ones.

I have been buying my beer here for OVER 30 years...has always been family run. While not the newest, most modern, or plush, it has (for me) always had a great selection, great prices as well as some very good sales. Having been in beer business myself many years ago, I also understand how "home distributors" come up with great discounts on products that are close to expiration etc., and this place never fails to have some great buys.... In fact I was there today to pick up a surprise gift for my hard working NYPD son....will always be a regular customer....

The other reviews are at LEAST 5 years old and do not do the place justice, especially in the 'service' area, but perhaps those who posted never heard of tipping the guys who shlep the beer out to your car... Henry has really turned the place around and the workers do care. The selection is better every month and they have installed 6-7 taps to fill your growlers with an ever-changing menu of micros. The prices are good compared to the rest of the Island, and they ALWAYS have my favorite - Bitburger in .5L . Plus the place is but a few blocks from my fridge/cooler so the convenience is huge. Going to Fire Island for a couple of weeks? Henry delivers! Love this place! Hugh

The beverage barn in Bay Shore is primarly a place to do your recycling, buy macro and soda. There is an aisle of your typical local brews (Ommegang, Blue Point), your typical English, Belgian, and German imports, and a small selection of other US craft brews. You can find the same selection at most distributors in the area. I was able to get the Ommegang gift box that I couldn't find anywhere else. The price is on the cheaper side but the service is just limited to the cashier. The parking is limited to a few spaces along the front of the store but you can easily park on the street. An average beer store as compared to the rest on Long Island.

This place is not too bad, actually. There are a lot of macros, sodas, and juice drinks, but also a good selection of micros and imports as well. There are some of your standard Belgians, but also solid micros like Dogfish Head and Southern Tier. There are also a few English choices I haven't seen anywhere else.

Prices are pretty reasonable (Chimay bombers for under $10 are usually unheard of around here), but the service is pretty non-existent. It's the best place in the area by a long shot, as far as I know.

This is basically a medium sized macro heaven with a very averaged sized micro/import selection. Macros dominate here. The micro/decent brews are kept on a few shelves across from the coolers and also a bunch are in the cooler along the rear of the store. The usual imports, micros are available, but no Southampton, Stone or other highly sought after nectars. Busy place, not much service to speak of. Best thing I could say about this place is its a decent place to find some drinkable brew before hitting the Fire Island ferry.
