Presentation: 355ml light brown bottle. No freshness date. Great label of an older gentleman, in suit and hat, about to take his first sip of Moretti from a big mug. Actually ... In 1942 the Moretti family spotted a man enjoying a beer at a local Trattoria. They believed the man captured the essence of their beer and they asked if they could take his picture. His only request in return was another Moretti. His genuine Italian image has graced every bottle since.
Appearance: Bright and clear yellow. Head pours a frothy, creamy white that settles to a semi-sticky, creamy white lace.
Smell: Slight metallic aroma with notes of light grain and hop.
Taste: Smooth, light-bodied brew with an even mouthfeel -- a bit creamy. A unique sweetness of faint raw honey can be found in the full malt profile, which is followed by grain husk flavours, some a dryness and metallic flavours. Hops are more or less mellow with a weak tea-like quality, although they do peak with a very soft citrus-like bite. Dry grain in the finish with some leftover sweetness and tea notes.
Notes: Not a bad beer at all. It lacks the crispness of say a Peroni, but is still quite enjoyable. It's also the Moretti's flagship beer. I'd pair this with a nice Italian dish vs. drinking it on it's own.

Looks as good as any other lager I suppose. Slight whiff of corn on the nose, hint of sweetness, that's it. No corn or adjuncts on the flavour though. Surprisingly decent malt notes of toasted bread, and even a hint of earthy and floral hops. It's all gone in two seconds but hey it's a macro lager. Honestly not bad for what it is, just not worth a premium price tag. But if you see it for cheap it's just fine as a BBQ beer.

For a priced, imported beer, I must say, I am quite disappointed by this pale lager. It looks very dark and dirty. The smell of hops and barley is a high note, but the strong wheat taste and feel leave much to be desired. It's drinkable, but nothing impressive by a longshot.
