According to the reviews I read online, this is one of the weaker Taco Mac locations in the greater Atlanta area... not being from down South, this was my first Taco Mac experience, and overall it was very positive.

We were staying in a timeshare my in-laws had booked, a good 45 minutes West of Atlanta. With most of Atlanta's highest-rated beer spots 10-15 minutes EAST of the city, in Decatur, and with non-drinking in-laws and small children in tow, a 20-minute ride North to Douglassville for a "sports-bar-like" varied menu was easily my best option, so we headed to Taco Mac.

Long story short, this was a great option. Typical sports bar environment, which means it's a great big space with lots of TV's and lots of noise... but when you're a big sports fan who has small kids, all three of those things are a positive. Plenty of room for my two-year-old to run around and stretch his legs a little, and no one minds a little noise in a place like this, because it's already loud. The wait staff treated us very well, the kid-menu was solid, so overall the place is very kid-friendly.

Maybe it was the less-than-amazing reviews I read on here coming in, but I was genuinely pleased by the beer list when i got there. I got to try a few things I'd never heard of, and was offered free samples to try before making selections by our waitress, ect. The food was good, the service was good, and if in the area again (or find ourselves near another Taco Mac), we'd definitely revisit.

I stopped here because of good experiences with the downtown Atlanta location. This location has a better atmosphere, very open with lots of brickwork and huge TV's. That's the good part, the bad part is that the beer selection, while good, is not anything like that of its urban sibling. There were about 25 taps, 1/2 of them from macro-breweries. That still left some good but not outstanding choices. The bottle list is OK, about 100 bottles. Again, very good but not in comparison with the downtown Atlanta spot. Worth a stop if you're in the area, otherwise not worth trekking to it.

Stopped in here after a beer run and figured I would grab a brew and some food since there was some traffic problems on I-20 west.

Well as far as a sports bar goes, very nice. Lots to look at with what looked like a good two dozen tvs. Two big projection screens had the soccer game on, very suprised about that. Would definitely come here to catch a game.

As far as quality and selection depends on your taste. They had a lot of BMC stuff. Almost all macro here. Quite disappointing. They had a one rotating keg that was Sweetwater IPA this month, and that was all that interested me on tap. Everything is macro. I had a SW IPA and a Carta Blanca to go with my burrito and I was out. Nothing too impressive here beer wise.

The food is ok. They tried on the burrito but nothing near authentic. The tortillas tasted almost fresh and that was a major suprise.

Service was ok. Had a pregnant waitress who looked like she was the only one working besides the bartender. She ran her ass off for me and I have to give it to her.

I guess I am going to have to go to a different Taco Mac because all the good things I have heard couldn't have been about this location.

If you live in West Georgia... don't even bother with this place. I don't know what the issue is with this particular location! All of the other TM's know what's up when it comes to good beer. This location only caters to the BMC crowd. the service wasn't attentive and the 2 beers I did get were overpriced. The ONLY positive is the food. However, it's not enough to keep me coming back to this joint. I'd rather spend the extra gas going to Charlie Mopps...
SOMEBODY speak to the management and explain to them that if they don't want to live up to the Taco Mac name then they need to change the name. This location brings the good name of taco mac down to nothing more than a redneck sports bar.

atmosphere - typical sports bar. The main bar area has a high ceiling which gave a more open atmosphere, which was a nice change. Otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary

quality - very good but not great. The beer was fresh so I can't complain, especially on this side of town. I went with the Terrapin Rye and Lagunitas Kronik for dinner, neither disappointed.

service - nothing spectacular but the staff was at least marginally friendly

selection - for Georgia, this gets a 5, but then again, Georgia isn't exactly the premier place for beer. Probably close to 100 taps and even more bottles, and it was nice to see something outside of Busch products and

food - "not impressed" sums it up best. I thought the buffalo wings were nearly terrible, the sauce (I went with TMI) was pretty bad and the chicken itself was TERRIBLE. Next time I'll go with a burger.

Value - had a buy-one-get-one going on when I was there. The Terrapins came in at $4.28 after tax, and I think the Lagunitas was about $5 a pint. Not bad at all! They make up for the price in the food though, as my crappy pound of wings was some $13

Overall its a nice place thats less than half an hour away, and unfortunately it doesn't get a whole lot better in Georgia, so it keeps me content.
