Been really wanting to try this place for some time now.

Located on Dorchester Ave (Or Dot Ave. for the locals), this place is very reasonable to get to, though many tourists may be wary to travel from Downtown through Roxbury or the South End to get here.

Decent size bar, opposite cut into the wall seating. Colorful decor with many football jersey's (soccer) adorning the walls and even the ceiling. Other Irish themed items fill the place. Known as the best place to catch a Euro match in the city.

You may notice the poor score for atmosphere. It is that low for one reason and one reason only. The music was too fucking loud. It was a Saturday, and there were a lot of people there, so I understand why an establishment would want to keep the flow of energy going. Makes sense, but this music was so loud I thought I was at a metal concert, except instead of metal it was crappy disco music. So yea, not so fun. We had one drink and scooted.

Tap selection included, standard BMC, with Guiness, Harpoon, Smithwicks, Sam Adams, Pilsner Urquell, amd a few others.

Bar tenders were busy but nice when they finally got to you.

I don't know, maybe I was just here on the wrong night. I can't think of any reason to go back, nothing special beer selection, deafening music, crowded.

Great neighborhood pub, food and service are awesome, packed at weekends for soccer and football but during the week you can relax with a Long Trail Limbo IPA or a Bud, the Banshee has a pretty decent draft selection to suit everyone.

A friend of mine turned me onto The Banshee about four years ago, as my paths don't frequently bring me down Dot Ave. I was hesitant at first when she told me we were going to a great Irish pub in Dorchester, not realizing how strong the Irish flavor is in parts of the town.

I knew I was going to love the bar as I walked up to the front door. The wind curtain, a must in any true Irish pub was there in place and the two men who checked my I.D. were thick with Braugh.

The times I've gone (all on Friday nights) the bar was packed with college aged students (UMASS Boston is not far away) and townies alike and it's always been standing room only.

Not a bad selection of beer here, but there's only one you should be asking for here...Guinness. They always poured me a proper pint here, no small feat considering the rate at which beers and drinks are being ordered.

There's always been some sort of altercation, yelling or drama towards last call when I've frequented here, so keep your wits about ya and enjoy the time. What's a good Irish pub without the testosterone?

This is a great place to go for a pint of Guinness (best pour in the city, hands down) on a weeknight when you just want to relax and have a few beers. It is small and dark on the inside, yet full of charm. the way any good Irish pub should be. The have a small selection that also includes harpoon, Boddingtons, Caffrey's, etc. Nothing outstanding, but a few good basics.

The staff is always polite and attentive. They have great sandwiches and munchies, and a FANTASTIC Irish breakfast.

Stay away on weekends, since it'll be a bunch of morons drinking Coors light and listening to the DJ that they have in on weekend nights.

Good Irish bar. Young crowd, which is hard to find at most Dorchester bars. Pool table upstairs. Good basic American/Irish food, but they don't serve late. Weekend Irish breakfast includes four types of pork! Check out Blarney Stone if you are in the area.
