This beer is not earth shattering or revolutionary in any way, but has a wonderful aroma, a lovely pale gold color, a prominent head reminiscent of Orval and an exquisite taste notes of pear and white grape (like a st. Germain saison [elderflowers rite? Haha]), for what it is, this is a damn near perfect drink

its funny how much i disliked their tripel, i wrote it off, and had no idea this was from the same brewery or i might never have bought it. its stunning, one of a kind, incredible saison. one of my favorite beers in recent memory, and a winner from top to bottom. i wish more beer like this was out there, and i have no idea where to get a second bottle. this was astonishingly good. weirdly clear for the style, but insanely heady and bright. rising white fluff several inches high and holding. it smells like honey, nectar, nature, spring, blooming, delicacy, sexual. i love it, i get elderflower blossom and funky yeast. its evident immediately to me that this is one of the driest beers ever made. its not just wheat malt either, lots going on with the grain. some sweetness and some hull, protein and spice, tannins in mild proportion and many yeasts from classic belgian saison to slight pre-bretty funk, its all happening. notes of orange with the wheat malt on the front end. tartness and elderflower pollen though the center, and finally a bold yeast that gives champagne and clear soda elements. i love everything about it. old enough to be mature, but fresh enough to retain these lively natural elements in pure form. as charged up as can be, and dry to the core. its flawless almost, and one of my favorite saisons ive ever had. i wish i could find more of this. literally shocking that these guys made the tournay tripel, which was so poor. this is expert work. elderflower and hops on the back end. a crazy rush of joy on the palate. infinitely drinkable. as good as it gets for me and a wonderful food beer, particularly grilled espresso crusted pork loins and pineapple. immaculately perfect.

Champagne blonde with moussy, leggy snow head. 4.25
A bit of funk with flowers and bubblegum. 4
Flaky pastry, some limestone, a touch of earthy funk, hit of white pepper, flower nectar, grassy and lime rind. 3.75
Lime sorbet end and chalky linger.
Crisp, flinty, dry. 4

A prickly one - some IBUs, some minerals, some wild. Few flowers that I can see, but I'm not sure I know what it should taste like. Refreshing, after a fashion, but also a bit of work. But opens into wax and doughy sweetness. If this shows the traditional range and potential complexity in this style - which is either Dupont or hop bombs these days - I'll take it. I could see this winning medals. 4.25

I thought this beer was excellent. I'm in a years-long Belgian phase and I very much like the Saison style. This beer did not disappoint.

Light in color, generous head so pour gently. Very fine mouthfeel. Excellent taste. Low malt. Hops were fairly faint for me, but I have a high tolerance for hops so others might find it hoppy and I might not be able to tell...
