I've gotten a growler or two of this, as well as on-tap at their brewpub.

It's in my top 3 Silver Moon offerings.

Pours a light brown muddy color, but not cloudy/hazy...just the color. Fairly thin head that dissiaptes rather quickly.

Not much of a hop presence. A good earthy malt aroma. The malt clearly smells roasted, almost nutty, like a walnut.

Does have abit of a mealy taste, bready wheat. A little hop bite is there, but not strong enough for my tastes. That aside, it is a very good amber!

Pours crystal clear amber with a wisp of an off-white head that quickly falls. Smells of oranges and sweet malt, strawberries and fruity hops, a slight earthiness. Taste is fruity strawberries and caramel malt, hoppy bitter twang, light body and appropriate carbonation. Pretty good session beer!

22 oz. bottle from Newport Market in Bend poured into UCLA pint glass.

Clear reddish copper body, finger and a half light tan head, with medium lacing. Sweet bready malts dominate the nose, a bit of chocolate well hidden, and the hops are almost non-existent odor wise. Toasty malts on the tastebuds, and I am having a hard time locating much in the way of hops. Fairly smooth mouthfeel, though a bit on the heavy side for such a low ABV, with a dry finish. Very quaffable, would certainly partner well with spicy food, but non enough hop presence for me.

Clear amber colour with a foamy, off-white head. Good head retention.

Earthy but very light aroma. Dull.

Nutty amber malt flavour with a touch of herbal hop flavour. Fine but not entirely inspiring.

Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Okay.

A fair amber ale. Smooth, malty and slightly bitter. It could be better but it certainly isn't bad.

pours a rich copper amber color with slightly off white head

aromas of slight apples, malt, slight hops

crisp, smooth malt followed by study pine hops, slight apples notes, similar to a lager taste, slight toasty and caramel malt, more fruit on the finish

light to medium bodied, with a solid malt body followed by a nice hoppy balance and a good malty body

a very tasty amber, not really my style of beer, but it was very tasty. a good malt body balanced well by sturdy hops, good finish, and a very enjoyable beer

Hound's Tooth is much improved since Silver Moon's early days on Division St. when this ale tasted like your friend's batch of hopeful homebrew. It has a nutty alt influence with plenty of tang and attitude, and a curious wooden taste that draws to a breathy grain husk flavor in the finish. It is deep chestnut colored with strong carbonation and a decent thread of suds to the head and the glass.

The flavor tends to fade as the beer breaths and the mouthfeel grows taut. But it's still a worthy drinker and it's good to note some improvement since its first introduction.

Hound's Tooth Amber doesn't do much for me. It claims rich caramel and full hop flavor and aroma but does not deliver on any of these. However, it is an okay beer and could work for a gateway to craft brew for the non-initiated.

There are some enjoyable caramel aromas and a slight apple presence. A floral hop aroma is also present but doesn't come through on the "full" hop aroma promise.

This is where the Hound's Tooth shines. It pours a gorgeous amber color with a beautiful light tan foam cap. The only thing keeping this beer from a 4.5 or 5 in appearance is the lack of head size and lacing. The foam was about a finger thick and stuck around for a bit but needs to stay longer and leave more lacing to advance in this category. A slight haze lends a mysterious quality to this beautiful brew.

This was a let down. The light to medium bodied brew didn't pack much of a punch. The caramel sweetness was there along with some nut and wood flavors that were interesting. However, all of it seemed watered down. Towards the end a slight burnt flavor emerges from the wash taking you into the watery and forgettable finish.

Poured a deep amber with an initial thick head that receeds pretty fast. Smells of malts, some woody tones and mild hops. The initial taste is malty and sweet with slight floral tones, faint hops with even fainter yet lemon. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. I's kind of plain but definately drinkable.
