A 330ml bottle with a BB of July 2018. Purchased a while back from Waitrose. Described on the label as a ruby beer matured over rum-infused oak for 57 days.

A: Poured into a tulip. A deep reddish-brown hue with good carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy beige foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer and then dissipating.

S: Aroma of rich fruity malt with hints of prunes, sweet dried fruit, caramel/toffee, mild brown sugar, wood, subtle vanilla, ale yeast esters, a touch of booze and faint leafiness. Rumalicious - rather nice.

T: Tastes of sweet fruity malt with notes of raisins, dried fruit, caramel/toffee, brown sugar, fruity ale yeast, esters, wood, mild vanilla, a hint of booze, leafiness and faint spice. Quite sweet, followed by a modest malty bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the style. Could be a shade thicker. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of fruity malt, sweet dried fruit, caramel/brown sugar, ale yeast, wood, vanilla and booze.

O: Pretty good; one of I&G's better regular brews. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour are sweet, malty and stuffed with boozy, fruity notes. Decent body. Drinkable and satisfying - worth sampling if you enjoy stronger, darker beers.

A very good wee heavy with the oak touch.
Pleasant and easy to drink, good with salmon, perfect with aged cheese (as parmigiano 36 months or oude trappist kaas).
More bottles next time I will find it!

Very estery with banana and pineapple. Some toffee. Some rum attributes on the backend

Always has great flavour, and more so than just the original Innis and Gunn. Very smooth finish. An excellent beer for sipping. Flavours become more pronounced as the beer warms.

Nice brown amber colour with a full head of foam. Sinks fast, but nice lacing nonetheless. Full nose with flavours like malt, peat, rum, caramel, smoke and wood, nice. Taste follows with the same flavours, though it's not as strong as the smell. Mouth feel is light to medium and very smooth, making this quite a nice wee heavy summer beer.

Beautiful deep ruby pour with no head. Slight peaty, smokiness to the nose. Delicious first taste, very reminiscent of the original version of the ale. A lot of sweet woody, vanilla flavour plus a dark treacle element and possibly some honey. Practically no bitterness. Heavenly.

Poured a dark amber with a heavy ruby tint and two finger cream frothy head. Heavy lacing was present. Aroma was musty at first and reminded me of the smell of outside oak showers at the ocean beach house. The aroma later opened up a bit to wisps of vanilla, toffee and rum, but still with the mustiness overall. Tastes of malt, dark rum, caramel and wood. The flavors open up about half way through the glass. This brew grows on you as you drink it. Carbonation is light to moderate and the body is light-medium, not what I expected from a wee heavy.

Like inside a vanilla bean; like bathing in a bathtub of vanilla ice cream.
Like inside an ice cream shop, the smell of waffle cones wafting through the air, lodging into your clothes & skin.
A sweet bourbon—the stuff of a poet's dream—lingers after each sip.
A tinge of honey, a tinge of crackers & honey, a tinge of figs.
It looks like a root beer float & has the delicate aftertaste of licorice.
With the lightness of a goat's hoof on a mountain crag it goes down.
It starts woody & ends sugary. It weaves both mouthfeels together.
It speaks of the intricate aging of beer on barrels. It tells that story with a smile.

Poured a sparkly ruby amber without any head. Smells of rum and a mild ale fruitiness. Mild spicy and sweet flavors follow, with some maltiness and a very dominant rum flavor. I wasn't expect this to taste so much like rum, but it does. Surprisingly good beer.

Good, but not all too complex for a BA Beer.
The Cask comes through, but not the Rum.
