Bottle. Clear copper colour. Thick head which dissipates to leave a wispy lacing film.
Citrus and tropical fruit aroma with toffee malt.
The taste is as per the bouquet although the malt is more forward. Bitter finish.
Soft to medium carbonation.
The lower ABV works quite well for this one.

From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Watching Games of Thrones 7x05. Slight grassy and pine notes. Not much taste nor aroma but in general a pleasant offering than wont displease any palate, with good mouthfeel

330ml bottle from Aldi supermarket, Glasgow (£1.49):
Not a bad stab at an American style IPA from Innis & Gunn considering their beers usually take more of a traditional route but this one was pleasant enough at times whilst still being miles behind what other brewery's are putting out at the moment. It's got some nice citrus & pine touches in the early going, a few biscuit flavours & the lighter caramel notes add some variety too but overall the beer is quite basic & predictable as well as being quite floral towards the end with a lot of perfume-like flavours showing too sadly.

330ml bottle, a sort of quiet new release here in Alberta, even though the sixer packaging proclaims 'NEW Release!'. Yeah. Not actually called 'American' on the label, but the hop schedule sez otherwise.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat creamy off-white head, which leaves some chunky splattered lace around the glass as it very lazily recedes.
It smells of grainy and biscuity caramel malt, some orange and red grapefruit citrus flesh, further pineapple, papaya and other sundry tropical fruitiness, a twinge of earthy yeast, and more leafy, weedy, and gently piney green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, an ethereal toffee sweetness, muddled domestic citrus rind bitters, fading tropical fruity notes, an ephemeral yeastiness, and some testy leafy, herbal, and wet pinecone verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its somewhat trilling frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and sort of smooth, as that complex hop bitterness really puts the clamps on the situation here. It finishes off-dry, barely, as the malt tries to keep up with the new Jones, but fails.
Overall - holy tap-dancing Christ, can it now be true? An Innis & Gunn offering that tastes nothing like, um, Innis & Gunn? They've quite nailed the departure from their typical saccharine caramel/toffee malt bread and butter (inference, ok, pun intended), with a very bitter and acerbic take on the Yankee style, which IMHO, works very well. Huh, who'd a thunk it?
