A: This poured an opaque black cherry with some light tan head.
S: It smelled like coffee and cream and oak, with some banana and milk chocolate and biscuit.
T: It tasted like coffee and cream and oak, with some banana and milk chocolate and biscuit. It had a clean mostly sweet aftertaste.
M: It was watery with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was an ok brew, but the scent and taste weren't that bold or complex or delicious. The body was a little weak too, although the alcohol was well hidden, so it wasn't difficult to drink. Not sure it would hold up in a cellar, but it wasn't that great fresh either. Not recommended.

330 ml bottle purchased and consumed in Stirling, Scotland.
Wood and whisky notes compose the aroma and are a little more prominent in the flavor than is the base Scottish stout.
Too sweet. Decent aftertaste. Good tan head.

Overall: disappointing.

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Light roasted malt and whiskey nose, flavor is dark roasted malt, vanilla and very smooth. $3.60 for a 330ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

Pours deep black with a short lived fizzy tan head. No lacing. The aroma is milder but has some nice whiskey and vanilla. The taste is also mild but offers the addition of coffee and a little earth to improve on the aroma. It is light bodied but not thin and has a nice mostly smooth mouthfeel.

Was pleasantly surprised by this one. Average look and a weak smell but the taste was very enjoyable. Sweet caramel tones, vanilla, earthy and then finishes with a nice semi-dry oaky flavor. Goes down quite easily. It's not mind blowing but non the less, it works well in the end. I will have again as a nice change of pace beer.

Poured at 50 degrees in a snifter glass. A tan head that is 2 finger head with poor retention. The color of the beer is dark brown like used motor oil. The head left a ring around the glass.

S: A dark roasted malt, floral, perfume, earth, biscuit, caramel, yeast, oak, and a charred note.

T: A dark roasted malt, earth biscuity, caramel, oak, vanilla, brown sugar, earth, and yeast.

The mouthfeel of the beer is creamy, slightly carbonated, and slightly chewy

Overall this is a mild beer in flavor, but complex in taste. A decent offering.

Very very good stout, it could be my one and done woooohhoooo. It is very good stout hidden behind a Irish whiskey. Really good!

Opaque black color with no visible activity. Creamy light brown 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with faint legs. Flavors of liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, whiskey, oak, molasses, faint cheese, dark grains, herbal spices. Thick bitter earthiness, yet warming and not stale. Slick medium body with moderate carbonation, a little crispy. Strong finish, dry and tongue coating with tons of flavors. Lingering grassy spices, dark fruits and roasted coffee, wood barrel, and sugary whiskey. Superb ending. It's bold but pleasant to drink, not overwhelming, but feels a little thin. Good flavors, nice balance, some freshness. Overall very good quality craft.
