Pours a deep dark brown color with ruby edges. The nose has light notes of whiskey. The flavor features an adequate roasted malt quality accompanied by some sweet vanilla accents. There is a modest hint of whiskey in the flavor as well.

The body is thinner than I like in a barrel-aged beer. But, it is hefty enough to pull off the whiskey notes without any harsh alcohol emerging.

Love this beer!!! Quite frankly I enjoy all the Innis & Gunn beer. Bests the crap out of ANY American brew.

Smells like a very faint coffee with whiskey sweetness.  Not as strong as I was hoping for.

A hint of sweetness quickly followed by coffee with a dash of wood.

Light to medium bodied with just enough carbonation to make it bubbly smooth. It has a weak but long coffee finish.

It's subtle but really good. Overall it gets a 5.1 out of 6.

4-pack of bottles from Jungle Jims.
Deep brown with a nice head.
Smell of dark chocolate and coffee and a distinctive whiskey aroma.
Taste follows the nose with a very sweet malty finish.
Crisp and dry. An easy drinker for a 7.4% stout.

Dark tan head, the heavenly scent of whiskey, and a deep stout flavor with a slight edge. Flavor notes of roasted coffee, fig or prune, vanilla, and yes, whiskey. While the whiskey is a bit more present in the scent than it is the taste, it proves to be a masterful combination.

Oh my goodness! This is an awesome stout. Quite possibly my all time favorite. The aging in the Irish Whisky barrels gives this a flavor that is hard to describe. I love Innis & Gunn and the hit this one out of the park!
