This pours a cloudy golden color. Hazy.

There’s a pronounced hoppy bouquet that’s heavy on the pine side, followed by some orange peel. That bracing hoppiness comes through on the flavor as well, without a strong enough malt backbone to balance it out. Sharp, piney bitterness and a lingering finish. Thick and resiny without being DIPA-strength.

Received this as an extra from mhenson42... thanks man!

Bottle Date = 4/12/12

Pours a slightly hazy goldish color with a film of white head. Nice retention on the head and nice lacing. The aroma features aromatic fruity hops along with pine cones and resin. Notes of caramel malt in the background are present. Taste is heavy on the bitterness right away with plenty of pine and a hint of grass and onion. Malts are present but are overshadowed by bitterness. The body feels somewhat heavy and the carbonation is moderate. Overall, this is a tasty little brew, but in the saturated world of IPAs, it doesn't stand out as a memorable or particularly unique brew.

I had this one at Hilton Towers in Houston. After experiencing the beer wasteland around Minute Maid Park, I was looking forward to this one.

Poured into a standard pint glass, the beer was amber with an off-white head. There were bits of lace on the sides of the glass.

I get citrus hops on the nose. Beer smells very fresh.

First taste is of hops (grapefruit) and then some faint caramel malts. It is a bit unbalanced, but was pretty tasty.

It has a slick and oily mouth that added to the enjoyment. While not world class, it really hit the spot!

Poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass. Pours a bright hazy golden orange with a big billowy white head that recedes to a thick cap and leaves good lacing. The aroma is tame with some light lemony hops and some floral as well. There is light sweet malts as well but it’s all very subdued. The taste is more of the same and actually a little less impressive. There is some faint citrus hops and light sugary malts. There is a light metallic bitterness in the finish and a fairly surprising alcohol burn. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with good carbonation but the flavors seem watery. Overall a decent session IPA.

Thanks for this extra Matt.

The beer pours a cloudy burnt-orange and leaves spider web lacing down the sides as it's quarter inch, white head falls flat. There is ample carbonation helping to push forward strong notes of layered, hoppy bitterness and sugary citrus. Very little alcohol is detected while drinking. This IPA tastes relatively fresh, with pungent piney hops and some citrus fruit in the aftertaste. The resiny bitterness lingers for quite some time after words. In summary, this is a tasty IPA, but fails to blow my socks off.

On tap at Daddy's (6th Street) in Austin, Texas.

Waitress brought me a deep amberish-brown brew with a good amount of depth to its color and a fair amount of carbonation and head retention. Aroma is dominated by piney & resinous hops with a well-balanced, sweet malt profile, flowery notes, and some citrus.

A big, resinous hop body greets the palate, with fruity notes of banana, mango, and grape. It's sweet, but has that powerful hop note to balance it out. A strange, semi-alcoholic "stale, sweaty air" flavor lingers on the finish, but it's not too distracting. Mouthfeel detects a medium body, average carbonation, but a poor finish that's a bit like wet paper. This beer is good, but it's not something I'd seek out. I'm glad I got to try it though.
