On tap at the Hay Merchant in Houston, TX.

A: Pours a slightly hazy, but dull golden color. At first a two finger white head forms, but recedes. Light lace is left behind.
S: A musky, spicy, phenolic aroma. Banana esters. Clove and spice again.
T: Follows the nose with a phenolic twang. This is a spice clove bomb with some banana esters mixed in. Some fusel like alcohol as well.
M/D: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Smooth at the same time. Not bad to sip on, but the alcohol take over as this warms up. Way to much burn in the throat.

This is almost a great Triipel. The fusel alcohol just takes over and makes this a one and done.

Served on-draught into an Independence Brewing pilser glass at Independence brewing a few weeks ago. Reviewed from notes.

A: No bubble show forms as the glass is filled.

Pours a half finger wide head of dull white colour. Okay creaminess and thickness. Subpar (~1 minute) retention.

Body colour is a murky cloudy copper of average vibrance. Glowing.

No yeast particles are visible.

Sm: Pleasant floral hop character. Crystal malt. Some grains. Lemongrass. Honey. Nectar. A pleasant inviting aroma of mild strength.

T: Honey, fruity nectar. Sticky. Grains. Pale Belgian malts, white malts. Floral hop chaacter. Flowery notes. Clove honey. It's brewed to style, with a pleasant maltiness. Nice build for a tripel. Decent balance as well. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. Could use more complexity and subtlety, but I do like it.

No yeast character or alcohol comes through.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Good carbonation and body. Nicely crisp. Suits the flavour profile well.

Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, harsh, or astringent.

Dr: Drinkable, and nicely executed for the style. Hides its ABV well. I'll enjoy killing the glass, and I'd get it again if I was in the mood for the style. Tasty stuff, and one of the better tripels I've had in awhile. Well priced at the brewery (about $3.00 I guess).
