Poured from the tap at the smokehouse into a standard pint glass.

Appearance- Beer pours dark brown/black with big red hints. A one finger cap of foam rises, tan in colour and quickly dies down to a thinner film of tan foam. Lacing is glued to the sides.

Smell- Coffee, chocolate, anise, slight oats, malt sweetness, likely chocolate malt, again, slightly caramel with Werther's original, buttery, not as thickly as with the Minola's oatmeal stout.

Taste- Kona upfront with big milk chocolate and brown malts to follow. Caramelization is present, but not strong. Buttered popcorn, very sweet in body and mouthfeel. Coffee was strong upfront but nearly nonexistant as it warms.

Mouthfeel- Creamy, smooth, medium full/light bodied. Highly carbonated, astringent just slightly but still quite drinkable.

Drinkability- Worth it by all grasps of the imagination, the oatmeal stout is just a bit better.

Deep translucent brown showing ruby at the edges. Head is small and oddly pure white. Fades rather quickly.

Nose is of sweet vanilla laced coffee, milk chocolate, cream, and cocoa. Unmalted barley with a dose of various dark fruits.

Nice creamy, easy drinking coffee stout. Not bag and bad but laid back and very feminine. Slightly overcarbonated. Coffee is roasty and provides some tannin. Unmalted barley with a semi sweet chocolate tart. Bits of vanilla and whipped cream. Dark fruits are also present but hard to distinguish.

Had this one on Firkin Friday last night. Poured in... You guessed it, a Pint Glass. Dark brown/light black color with a creamy tan head that disappears to leave a good amount of lacing all around. The smell is of coffee off in the distance, and toasted malt. It reminds me slightly of Founders Breakfast Stout. The taste is not as much coffee as I would have liked. A very good offering from Barleys again!
