Had it on tap & immediately bought a growler. The appearance is a beautiful deep, almost black amber/brown with a half inch taupe head. The smell was refreshing with a hint of cherry & chocolate. The taste was incredible, I drink a lot of darker beers & this is by far the best I've had. The typical porter is there but the light touch of cherry brings it to a new level, easy to drink. The feel is extremely smooth, slides over the tongue & goes down very easy, makes you want to just hold it in your mouth. The drinkability is exceptional, one of the few beers that you everytime you take a drink it tastes like the first time you've had it. Great beer guys!!! Keep it up.

I'm typically a little skeptical of fruit in my beer but this was such a pleasant suprise. Still able to have all the characteristics of a great porter and also have just a hint of cherries that doesn't ruin the beer. Great dark brown/amber appearance with a nice head. Mild carbonation and great aromas of chocolate, coffee, and a touch of cherries. Smooth going down with a carmel and malt tones. Nice mild cherry after-taste. What a great beer for the spring or fall.

I'm happy to report that I've found a dark brew that my wife can enjoy as much as me. I didn't think she'd go for it at first but one sip and it was "I'll have what he's having". Outstanding.
Very deep amber almost black, and a decent short lived head.
Chocolate and cherry nose. Maybe a little caramel.
The black cherries were slight and delicious. The malt was affluent but not too sweet. Great going down. I unfortunately didn't taste any hops.
I'd have to say one of Barley's best.

A good Porter style beer that was quite light and mild because of the cask conditioning. Mahogany colored brew with a smallish white head and only light effects. The nose was of roasty notes and the flavor followed through with light notes of toasted malt and some small bits of hopping. The feel was light and a bit watery; no crispness in the finish, so it's a bit flat feeling. Overall it is drinkable but not the best representative of the style.

From the firkin at Barley's Mini RAF on March 27th. I really didn't notice much difference between this version and the regular draught version. Deep black with a dark brown halo and a thin beige head. Very light black cherry aroma. Flavor was less sharp than the draught version but not a lot, there appeared to be more malt flavor in this version. Dry finish.

This beer was almost black and had a light tan head that formed a circular lace. An aroma of malt and lightly of cherry. A flaovor of malt and cherry with some citrus present. A medium body and a slightly sweet finish. Another good beer from Barley's.
