This is a must visit if you are in Northern Jersey. I have been there a few times and enjoy it more every time. They have a great selection of bottles (both imports and micros). Their taps are mostly local micros (Rammstein, Heavyweight, Flying Fish, Weyerbacher) and they rotate frequently. The service is excellent and friendly and they are quite knowledgeable about what they are serving. It is one of the great bars I have ever visited. I was talking with the bartender once, and he was telling me that Micheal jackson has been known to stop by on occassion as well.

Very nice and friendly bar. The minute you walk in there, you feel like you are at home. You meet people, and everybody is friendly. Great selection of beer. Taps and Bottles. Unfortunately no food is available there, but there is a pizza place on the corner, which is pretty good. Really like Andy's. Beer is always good. No dirty lines. Everything is kept up, no problems. On occasion, they have promo nights which are nights where new beer is introduced. They also have music and they have a beer club.

Was there last friday night and had a excellent time. A small (11 tap or so) selection on draft but all well thought out. The 3 year old Blithering Idiot was sublime. Within a few minutes this bar felt more like a private beer party at someone's house. Staff all knew and loved beer as did the patrons. Michelle and Colleen were especially nice and funny. As someone from San Fran, I was looking for big beers and George the owner went out of his way to go to the basement to see what could find. He found some dogfish pumpkin ale which was very tasty. Too bad he only carries 12oz beers and not 22 oz. No food but good pizza next door.
Big Hello to George from Lou and Scott! Thanks for the parting gifts.

If you took a local bar, TVs showing sports, current jukebox music, and lots beer personality, swirled it around a bit.... you would make Andy's. A nice family-run bar with local flavor. Andy's has a nice modern design, and plenty of seating in a fairly narrow space. The folks that run the place are fun, open-minded to new beers, and "make you feel at home" friendly. They have events on a regular basis, highlighting local/regional breweries, like Heavyweight and Weyerbacher, to name a few. A great draft line-up with an equally interesting cask beer is always anticipated. Oh BTW, they have a thorough bottle selection. I always look forward that pretzel served with my beer at Andy's Corner Bar!

To look at this place, it appears to be a typical, unexceptional small local pub. But that is very misleading. The beer selection is quite amazing, with a high percentage of good micros on draft, and a very good bottle selection as well. They also do great promotional events. Get on their email list, and you will know everything that is going on there at all times...maybe even more than you want to! All in all, a real gem.

Edit: After having been to Andy's on numerous occasions, I try to stop by once a week. The selection changes almost completely weekly. Service is top notch. The promo nights are excellent, and it is great to meet brewers in such a cozy bar with good people. For me, it doesn't get much better than having a few brews at Andy's.

My first real beer bar experience, and what a good one at that.

I went on a Monday night, and it was extremely quiet. It was very nice to sit down and watch some motorcycle shows while enjoying a few great brews. A friend and I had great conversation with the bartender. We basically learned how to build a Triumph from the bolts up.

The bar was very nice and clean with very simple decoration. All the beers were served in the correct glassware. The selection was not out of this world, but it was very good, and I will be able to pick up a few new ones from time to time. That is, of course, if I can manage to pass up on a few favorites on tap and cask.

This is one excellent bar, and being only 15 minutes away from me at school, it will certainly serve as my local bar. I will definitely journey to this fine establishment when I am back at home which will probably be near an hour away.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are quick to make conversation and friends.

I should have ventured by here a long damn time ago. So much time wasted at shitty bars when Andy's was nestled practically right under my nose. Oh, dear boy, the pain, the pain.

Andy's is the deal. What more can I say? 8-10 rotating taps of great beers and a cask or two to boot, and let me tell you, you don't see cask anywhere out here in Bergen County. Andy's is a place where you'll see good regional breweries represented. Heavyweight, Flying Fish, Climax, Victory, Dogfish Head, Crooked River, Weyerbacher, Cricket Hill, Ramstein, and on and on and on and on.

Promos?? Sure they do promos. Breweries will come on out and showcase a handful of their beers, maybe something you haven't tried before, maybe something on cask, maybe something different you won't see elsewhere, and certainly you'll regret having missed it if you couldn't make it out there that night. I like seeing the brewers from the breweries come out and talk to us consumers about their wares. Pint glass giveaways and shirt raffles and the like.

A couple of coolers in the back housing a few dozen beers. Everything from American micros to good german Weisses to fine Belgian lambics. I'm like a kid in a candy store. "Ooooh, I want that, ooooh, gots to try that, but ooooh, I need that right now".

And undoubtedly the most hospitable of folks. George, Tommy, Chris, Barbara, Joe, Skip...always a friendly, knowledgeable face behind the bar. These are people who know their beer. I get greeted by name, I get a pretzel with my beer, and I get some great conversation.

Just a fantastic place to be. A great place to watch the game and a kickin' juke box too.

Andy's is the "Cheers!" of NJ. Great place with great customers who know and appreciate good beer (unfortunately, they do serve some of those lousy beers that I used to drink before I discovered good beer. I won't mention Budweiser or Coors by name, however.)
The 100 beer club really makes you want to discover new beers and really helps you understand the different styles. I can't go into the place without the bartender (whoever is on duty) welcoming me by name. Not sure if a beer is for you? They'll give you a 2 ounce sample before you buy a pint. They also have promo nights where they bring in a specific brewers beer line-up and have give-aways and raffles (Rogue, Heavyweight, Otter Creek, Red Hook and River Horse have been there, just to name a few.)
Best of all, for me, is that it's 2 miles from my house. But even if it wasn't, I'd still travel far to get there and it would still be my "local" bar, it's that good.
My only complaint is that it gets very smoke-filled in this small bar. And when those cigar smokers light-up their cancer sticks, it really leaves most people gasping for fresh air. Still, I wouldn't trade this place for any other beer bar in the world. (UPDATE: GOOD NEWS!!!! Andy's is about to get even better: On April 15th, they (along with the rest of NJ) go smoke-free. No more of those cancer sticks will be allowed. Time to celebrate!!!)

Andy's Corner Bar is, quite simply, a reflection of the guy who owns it--George Gray.

George is an ex-Marine--if there is such a thing--who is unpretentious, down-to-earth and up front about everything--just like his bar.

Goerge knows his beers, too, and many a craft beer fancier has learned (as Plato did from Socrates) at George's feet just by discussing his favorite subject--beer.

Looking for fancy? Don't go here. In fact, that's why I gave the place a 3 in atmosphere. I don't want you to expect that you'll walk in the joint and be in awe. That may happen when you leave, but the decor is not what will do it to you.

Looking for great beer selection, a very diverse, friendly and beer-knowledgeable clientele? Then make Andy's Corner Bar a required stop on your tour.

For icing on the cake, if you're lucky you may just meet some of the more colorful characters in the place. Many are in the beer field as writers, editors, brewers, etc.

Some are out of the ACB comic book cast of characters....and you will not forget them.
