A 330ml bottle with a BB of May 2018. Acquired a little while back from a webshop. The label calls it an SPA, which I presume stands for session pale ale.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A hazy amber colour with fine suspended sediment and intense carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a persistent surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of sharp fruity hops with hints of lemon, citrus peel, tart berries, mild grass/hay, earthiness, ale yeast and pale malt. Dry and pungently hoppy. Smells like Sorachi Ace.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with notes of lemon, citrus zest, peel, sharp berries, white grape, grass/hay, earthiness, ale yeast and pale malt. Very dry, followed by a crisp, leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent; hops oils stimulate the palate. Aftertaste of lemon zest, citrus, berries, leafiness, earthy yeast and faint malt.
O: Rather good, with a zesty profile. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour showcase citrussy hops, earthy yeast and subtle malt. Nice crisp body. Very drinkable - goes down a treat. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.
