This beverage store is located right along the Jericho Turnpike, in a really busy section of it. And it is kind of tucked away from the road, so slow down, in order to make the turn into their small parking lot. Upon walking in, the craft beer immediately appears. There is a quite a bit of bombers and 4-6 packs sitting at room temperature, from the likes of Spider Bite Brewing, Founders, Goose Island, among others. And then further in the back of the store is the chilled craft beer, as well as the BMC products. As someone else noted, it seems that some of their beer sits for a while, so try to check dates on IPAs if they are printed. Friendly staff, a little expensive, but not a big surprise for this section of Long Island.

A real top notch beer distributor. The clerk was very helpful. I asked her if they carried Sierra Nevada IPA, she told me they didn't but added it to a list she was keeping and said that I should check back on a certain day. This has never happened to me before. Usually I am told sorry, we don't carry that and that's it.

The beer selection was above average. I counted craft brews from at least a dozen different states. There was a very large selection of Belgians, English ales and German beers.

Additionally, they allow you to mix and match bottles, which is rare on Long Island.

A good selection of keg beer as well. Also, there is a cigar shop attached, with a very good selection.

This place is a little hard to find. If you're looking for a sign that says "Syosset Beverage", forget it. Instead look for the attached Cigar Shop. They let you mix an match, which is the only way to buy a six of micros. My score for the night consisted of Brooklyn Brewery's most excellent Black Chocolate Stout, Sam Adams Cream Stout, Southampton Double White Ale, Blue Point Hoptical Illusion, Dogfish Head Chicory Stout & Otter Creek Copper Ale.

One odd thing about the place, the cooler temp was the same as the store temp, about 50 degrees.

V: great vibe walking in because all you see is densely packed craft beer. Small front area is jam-packed with tons of craft, and a narrow aisle is similarly tightly filled, leading to a back area with more of the same plus plenty of cooler doors filled with craft. Where the hell was the BMC crap? Didn't even notice.

Q: as a couple of folks noted, there are lots of ancient beers nestled among the shelves, so you'd need to be wary about beers where freshness is your goal. They had some stuff I knew was way past its prime, but it was really cool to see it again - I just wouldn't buy it - lol...

S: made some entry level small talk with a friendly female clerk at the front - for some reason I took her age and slight German (?) accent as a sign she'd been working there a while. She took notice of what I was buying and on her own recognizance came over to me with a suggestion. When I asked her about a personal whale (Wulver), she took me right to it. Very nice, personable, and friendly.

S: craft beer eye candy. Tons of shit from all over the place - old and new - weird stuff, obscure stuff, common stuff - but again, be wary about the freshness of some products - that said, I was very impressed with the range of beers offered. Selection on par with the top stores I've been to on Long Island (Beer City, Huntington Superstar, and Shoreline).

Prices: Probably a little pricier than my usual haunts, but that's reflective of the general area. Figure a dollar more than the average store.

Cramped little store off the Jericho turnpike with a driveway that could be very easy to miss. Small parking lot made it difficult to get out on what I presume was a busy day when I went.

The beer selection was better then many of the Long Island distributors I've seen but I feel like they could utilize the space better somehow.

The staff was friendly enough and willing to help. They greeted me as I walked by the counter asked if I found everything all right etc...

The pricing was a little high but really nothing to complain about. If I lived in the area I would happily frequent the store.

Located on Jericho turnpike right before Route 135. A very small entrance to the parking lot which is very easy to miss. The store is quite small but they utilize their space well. Their imports are displayed throughout the right-side wall of the store. Fairly large Belgian and Belgian style selection, with all of the big names. Also some German and English brews. The American micros are located right around the register. Not a large selection but all of the easy to get good craft brews. Their cooler is in the back, and craft brews take up most of the shelf space. If you want a cold macro you need to go into the cooler. The staff seems to be just there, never been asked for help or engaged in a beer conversation. A cigar shop is adjacent/attached to the store and looks like it has a nice selection. Overall, a nice little beer store. You might be able to find a belgian style brew that you won't in other stores. Worth a visit.

Although this is a bit of a drive for me I decided to go prompted by a friends reccomendation. I found it to have a very nice selection of beers and very helpful staff. The woman who either owns or manages the place came up and was very helpful in assisting me in looking for other beers that matched my tastes. Prices seemed to be very reasonable and anytime you can get craft beer for a decent price AND get to use a coupn then you're ahead of the game. Certainly worth a drive and a look if you are in the Nassau/Western Suffolk area. Enjoy!!!

This is a great beer store! They've got a big and impressive selection with pretty much anything you'd expect to see in terms of craft beers and Belgians, including a bunch of brews I haven't been able to find anywhere else. The staff was very helpful - he even went out of his way to warn me that one of my selections was especially pricey before I sprang for it - and seem pretty knowledgeable too. If you go to their website they often have some really amazing coupons, so I got a big haul of high-quality beer for way less than I would have paid anywhere else. This is my new favorite distributor and I doubt I'll need to go anywhere else much, if at all, now that I've found it.

Stopped here on 3/11/2010. I'm only 15 minutes away and I thought I should drop by and check it out based on reviews here.
All of the styles are represented from Belgian to German to American Craft. Very nice selection down the entire right side of the store. The store itself is a bit cramped, but the selections and service will make up for that. The cashier had asked if I needed help in looking for something or would I like any recommendations. She also asked if I'd like to sign up for their email list and told me to log onto the website for coupons and discounts. I believe she went out of her way by offering me their business card and stating that because I don't live in the immediate area I should call them if I'm looking for something in particular. She stated that the selection I'm looking at is only 1/3 of the beer that she could order. I thought that was an excellent point to explain to a customer.
Overall, I will definitely return here for my purchases. It is much closer than Shoreline or Big Z to my home and the selection is just as good. No growler section except for the standard Blue Point growlers in the fridge.
Last note on this and I'll move on...no pricing. I had to ask for a couple of prices, which kind of bugs me because its not that I can't spend the money, its just that if I'm searching for a "good deal" on something, how will I know it unless I ask?

I love Syosset Beverage. It's definately my go-to beer store in the area. I'm surprised they don't get as much attention as Big Z, Superstar and other more well-known beer bars in the area.

The quality of their products is fantastic. The front windows are covered so no sunlight beams in onto the bottles. The inside of the store is colder than normal to maintain shelf-life. I've never had a bottle from them that was skunked or damaged or off in any way. I've even bought aged beer from them that was in great condition. I bought a bottle of Pangea that was literally 3+ years old and it aged beautifully.

In terms of service, the lady's who work behind the register are extremely friendly. I've seen two of them in there, one is extremely knowledgable and very helpful, the other is very friendly but not as knowledgable. There's a man who usually answers the phone who is very short and not particularly friendly at all.

In terms of selection, they don't carry an overwhelming number of breweries (compared to some of the bigger places), but they carry EVERYTHING from the breweries they do offer, limited batches included. Where most places only carry La Fin Du Monde and Maudite from Unibroue, they have an entire shelf with every offering as well as their limited anniversary ales dating back at least 3 years. Where most places only carry the Brooklyn Lager, Local 1, etc., they have everything, including Black Chocolate, Local 2, and even Black Ops. The layout is a bit disorganized, though.

All in all I highly recommend checking it out.

This is a great beer store, but it is slowly going down hill. I do think it is nice place, the selection of beers is what i am worried about because a lot of their beers that do not sell do sit on the shelves and you can see the dust just collect on the bottles.

The staff is my opinion is very helpful and friendly. They did loose Kevin which is sad.

The growler selection is pretty good. Just wish they would put there 2 unknown gems on tap. Overall I would most likely make a trip out of the way and go see what they have.

I love the fact that you can mix a six pack in this place. I do wish I knew how much the items were ahead of time though. You can find a listing of their offerings on another website and do comparison shopping, thus making a list before you go also.

Friendly, Knowledgeable staff will guide you to good choices and not to the stock they are trying to move.

This is my new favorite place because of their selections. Their pricing is hit or miss, do your research before going in and you will have a great experience. Do not impulse buy unless price means nothing to you.

Been going here for years. Great people, very knowledgeable about craft. Huge variety of craft, wall to wall, I always stop by when I'm in town.
