Appearance: Arrives hazy and honey colored with a modest head; a few strands of lacing hang around as the head fades

Smell: Lemons, coriander, cloves and wheat; hints of orange and banana

Taste: Lemony and tangy wheat tones, up front, with a hint of banana developing; through the middle, the coriander and clove tones emerge along with white pepper; all the flavors are well-balanced through the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A really nice Wit that has some elements of a hefe, as well

On tap at the Pizza Plant on Main, poured from the tap into a standard pint glass a hazed dull light yellow a tight formed 1/2 finger white head atop.Mild aromas hints of toasty wheat lemon but it seemed very mild, quite citrusy/lemony on th palate with an underlying toasted wheat wheat flavor along with some coriander spice wich came as I drank more. Not bad it would be a good drinker on a warm day but not overly complex or earth shattering.

First had: on tap at the brewery

Straw-yellow pour, slightly hazy, with a fairly puffy cap of white head that retained and laced well. Typical wheat profile in the nose, notes of citrus and peppery spice. Taste is pretty clean, bready, slightly yeasty, and again, notes of citrus zest and peppery clovey spice. Pretty decent for a style I'm not a huge fan of, and much more smooth and tolerable than many. Light body, crisp and easily drinkable.

Sitting outside at Mad Mex enjoying the 70 degree Spring weather, what better offering to imbibe on during good conversation than the East End Witte. Appearance was slightly hazed citrusy lemonade look to it white bright head nice size stays around for a good bit of time leaves behind even thin lacing. Aroma is spiced up in addition to the traditional coriander it also has a lavender herbal complex about it very intriguing mix along with the citrus and sharp wheat and soothing bready yeast notes. Taste is flowery with the lavender tone, citrus bite is present with no added lemon wedge malts, wheat, and yeast have a fluffy creaminess to it all I like the layer of spices that stays on the tongue. Mouthfeel is light bodied semi spritzy carbonation like I said leaves it's presence on the tongue. Drinkability is where this beers highlights are very sessionable especially in the warmer months we're approaching won't be the last time I enjoy this fine brew.

A. Served into a 12 oz glass at the brewery. Appeared hazy yellow with quite a bit of head. Some nice lacing work as well.

S. Very sweet and wheaty. I could pick up some notes of citrus from the beginning.
Hops are evident.

T. Spiced and citric, a nice hop profile with some pineapple touches.

M. Smooth and crisp. Totally refreshing.

D. Very good. Glad its a year round selection.

A 6 oz glass served by Scott at East End.

A: The ale is a hazy pale yellow color with a thick white billowy head that retained nicely.

S: The aroma is orange peel bitterness and spritzy wheat.

T: Much like the nose, the flavor is light and slightly tart as a result of the wheat. Sweetness comes from orange peel and lemony spices, further creating a tartness that is very dry. The dryness is a plus, making you want more.

M: The mouthfeel is spicy with the wheat body enabling those spices to emerge.

D: The low abv and light taste make this a perfect summer beer, so mow the grass and relax afterwards with this witbier.

Golden straw color with a crescent moon of solidifying head. Quite literally how it formed on the surface. 3.5

Wheaty clean with peppery spice, coriander, and light lemon. 4.0

Lemony wheat and white pepper with coriander, a hint of clove, sourdough, saison yeast, and blanched peanuts. Very nice flavor, overall. Mostly dry and superbly crisp in the finish. 4.5

Needs a carb boost. Body is like skim milk. High drinkability. 3.5

A hometown treat in the summertime. A quality witbier. Enjoy! 4.0

A hazy yellow body with a little bit of a white head, some retention.

A light wheat odor. Lemon, citrus, a good dose of coriander.

A very nice witbier, one of my favorites for sure. The main flavors are coriander and lemon, but there is still a nice wheat twang underneath. The nice twang and the refreshing combination of the other flavors is what makes this wit great to me. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

Very refreshing beer. Easy to drink, low ABV. Something I can drink a lot of.

I'm a huge fan of all the wheat beers that come out of East End, and this one is no exception.

On-tap at Capones in Norristown PA.

Appearance: Served a lemon yellow gold with a short white head, frothy, and nice lacing.

Smell: Light aroma of lemons, coriander, cloves and wheat; a hint of orange and a drop of honey. very nice.

Taste: It is what a Witbier should be. Easy and refreshing. Soft lemon orange citrus element followed by wheat bread and a hint of banana, then spices, and a fruitiness, fruit salad (with peaches and ginger showing through) come to mind. There is even a pleasant hint of tartness I like.

Mouthfeel: Zesty and lively in the mouth with carbonation and spices leaping all around the taste buds.

Drinkability: This is a perfect easy drinking session beer. I had it at lunch when I needed to drive later and it is light and refreshing and very easy to drink. Well done Wit.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

A- A very pale and very hazy yellow colored beer makes for a very white looking ale. This beer holds true to its name. The head rises up to about one finger and fades leaving thick lacing. The foam sustains as a thin film.

S- Grassy, estery and spicy. Lots of lemon, some banana, some citrus and grassy hops.

T- Tons of lemon. The banana fades behind some lemon, pine, spice and citrus. The finish is a little bit bitter for a wit but that just provides a very crisp finish.

M- Light body with fluffy soft carbonation. This is a pretty dry beer that finishes dry leaving only some lemon flavors.

D- A nice light summer brew. Between three of us we had no problem finishing this growler.

keg at the brewery -> pint glass (free full pint sample, hoo-ray)

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a nice inch bubbley head. Sporadic lace with carbonation levels appearing robust.

Smells of coriander, lemon peel, and that wheaty yeast smell thats common from witbier.

Taste: A nice orange-lemon zing with the coriander and wheat very present. Very crisp and refreshing.

Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. I will be drinking this next spring for sure as its a regular east end offering.

A refreshing witbier that is true to the style.

Poured from an East End growler. I was concerned about the carbonation, since the last growler of Witte I got was flat, but that must have been a bizarre flufe, as this was nice and bubbly. The usual haze too, with plenty of head up top.

Smells of citrus and spice, just like a wit should. Nice and tasty in the mouth as well, with the spices carrying through and melding well with the yeatiness. A little of East End's trademark hop bitterness, as well.

Easy drinker, as wits should be, and while not befitting this cool fall day, I could kick a few of these back with no problem.

Poured from a growler that was filled at the East End Brewery!

Appearance: A nice goldenrod color with a decent foamy white head.

Smell: Very strong aroma of citrus (orange) and coriander.

Taste: Light and a little over the top with the orange and coriander. This seems to be missing something.

Mouthfeel: Light and refreshing with good carbonation.

Drinkability: Like most Wits, this is an easy drinking session-like brew that would be great on a hot summer day.

I'm a fan of Hoegaarden and this beer seems to over-emphasize the typical wit spices a bit, but a good drink nonetheless.

Picked up a growler on a recent trip to Pittsburgh, had a special tour and got to hang out with Scott...had set it up to hang out at the brewery with my buddy who was getting married as a surprise...to him and for all the guys in the wedding party...awesome time. I have to give great props to Scott for having us in and answering all of our questions...and letting us try so many of his great beers!!

A- Light hazy yellow, bright sunny, light wheat, frothy white head, that lingers for a bit, no lacing...unfiltered.

S- Nice citrus, lemon, orange, light spice.

T- Very clean and refreshing, a great wit style beer...some coriander, orange peel, lemon zest...banana, very nice.

M- Light and carbonated, clean and balanced...

D- A very drinkable beer, light, low ABV, great beer to drink.
