Dark brown in color with a decent sized white head, yet no lacing to speak of, which is why I scored the appearance a bit lower.

Aromas of yeast, malt, semi-sweet chocolate, nuts, and some hints of toffee.

The taste started with roasted malt and semi-sweet, almost bitter chocolate; and then moved to a hoppy middle that provided very good balance. A medium bodied brew that finishes fairly cleanly. One of their better offerings.

Arrived with a light tan head settling over clear deep brown liquid. A nice delicate flowery fragrance with a light coffee aroma fills the nose. The taste is roasted barley with an underlying malt sweetness once the above average (for a brown ale) bitterness fades out. The beer finished up dry and very appetizing, another well-made brew from this brewpub.

This was the best beer I had here. The one I had weighed in at5.3% abv.

Poured brown/chestnut with a bout 3/4" of off-white head. Good head retention & above average lacing

S: some hints of chocolate & roasted malt

T: Hints of cocoa & roasted malt up front. Slight nuttyness & toastyness as this warms. A dry slightly chocolatey finish

MF: Medium bodied, slightly over-carbonated. Balanced pretty good.

Drank really easy, nothing earth-shattering, but a nice brown none the less

Deep brown in color with an off-white head.
Aroma of sweet malts.

Good taste. Sweet malts provide varying flavor notes; slightly roasty, chocolate, slight nut, slight caramel. Floral hops to balance.

good mouthfeel.
Good drinkability. I enjoyed this one.

Overall, a good brown ale. This and the Rocket Red Ale were their best 2 beers IMO.

A - A vibrant medium brown color... A big fluffy slightly off white head... Excellent retention ultimatley fades away leaving little or no lacing and just a small ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass... Moderate carbonation...

S - Sweet malts... Cocoa... Dark breads... Brown sugar... A hint of raisins... Toffee... Caramel...

T - Loaded with malty goodness... Toffee... Caramel... A slight nuttiness... Perhaps a hint of cocoa...

M - Light bodied and fluffy... Highly quaffable... Goes down very smooth leavaing wanting to take another sip before your glass hits the table...

D - My favorite offering from Big River... A very easy drinking and sessionable brown ale that is big on flavor and real easy going down...

Pours a slightly chil-hazed brown with some deep red highlights. edium sized tan head develops that doesn't really deposit any lace.
Aroma of caramel, some honey or molasses and some tart fruits.
Flavors of hexnuts, caramel, hint of bubblgum and some brown sugar shone through.
Mouthfeel was highly carbonated, almost soda-like, detracted from the beer somewhat. Transitions between flavors were distinct and whole combo did not work for some reason.
Drinkability was OK, agan overcarbonation was a distraction and as the beer warmed it settled down a bit and produced a little more balanced flavor but nothing incredibly special.

Appears a dark, ruby toned brown with a fluffy cap of tan that resists fading. Tons of lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is a mix of toasted malt, citrusy hops, and lime with some notes of caramel, and toffee climbing to the top.
Taste is of the same aromas highlighting the caramel, and toasted malts.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, bitey, semi-dry with sweetness found up front.

Review from notes from my trip to Florida.

#2 of the night. Poured into a pint glass.

3.5 A: Deep amber. Just a touch of creamy head with average retention and some lacing.

2.5 S: Incredibly boring. Just a bit of breadiness and some caramel. Maybe some spicy hops.

2.5 T: More of the same. Boring with light caramel and a little breadiness.

4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation with a pleasant creaminess. Easily the best part of this one.

3.0 D: Too boring for me.

Dark brown with ruby highlights and a thin lacy head that slides back down the glass as you go.

Clean toffee and pepper in the nose.

Big, fairly complex (for 5.3%) flavor, a savory fruitiness, like pomegranate without the pith... some chocolate, malt, and a pepper/clove hop finish.

Slight fizz on the tongue, with a medium body.

I thought this beer was very good, out of the few I sampled it was the best I thought.

The body is a nice mahagony brown color and is topped by a nice, but reserved head. The aroma is slightly vinuous with an interesting smokiness that I wasn't expecting. The hopping is very reserved, but still manages to be a surprisingly complex brown. A bit of chocolate but not a big part of the profile.

On tap at the Disney World Board Walk location.

Poured a darker brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate (stronger in the aroma), nuts, and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, toasted nuttiness (more tan the aromas), and some caramel. Lively body.

Tried this one with lunch at the Big River Brew Pub in Disney World. Pours a dark brown with a lot of light coming through. Medium off white head. Average retention and lacing. Mild roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Taste is the same - fairly mild, some bready and roasted malt, very little bitterness and some chocolate.

Mouthfeel is pretty thin. Overall a pretty average Brown ALe.

A dark brown but clear look that has a minimal head and little lace effect. The nose is decent enough with roasted malts notable and a little sense of nuttiness. The flavor is cleanly roasted malt and a touch of light toffee. The feel is thin and too watery for my taste. Easily drinkable, but brews will likely get the nod.

Pours a meduim-deep brown with a light tan head that melts away quickly, leaving only a ring around the outside; no lacing. The aroma is mild malt sweetness, not much else. The taste is also malty but adds a little bit of nuttiness and earthy hops. It's not a huge nut brown flavor, but it is good. The body is lighter and mostly smooth, with just a hint of carbonation.
