Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Manzanita pint glass
From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $0.75 (on clearance, down from $1.50)
Purchased: June 6, 2014
Consumed: June 7, 2014
Misc.: Best by Aug. 4, 2014

Poured a light amber, pale clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of white head. A decent amount of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Good amount of foamy layered lacing along the sides of the glass. Great retention on the top all the way down.

Smelled boozy lager notes up front, honey, corn, caramel, grassy notes and light floral notes.

Tasted better than the smell. Got smooth honey, caramel, faint banana and even some light vanilla. The 6.9% ABV was muffled.

Light-to-medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, smooth finish. Very drinkable.

This beer completely surprised me. I would definitely have it again. Not bad for Miller’s attempt at a craft beer. I would have rated this even higher compared to American Adjunct Lager’s, but Beer Advocate had it as a American Amber / Red Lager.

There is no way to try and mask this beers intended market! This beer was made for people who like strong inexpensive beers. I happen to like all beers and depending on the mood I might want a cheap strong beer. That being said this beer is not expensive, so I will treat and rate it as so. Like other strong beers in its category, Malt liquors, High Gravity lagers, Ice beers... this beer is a cut above the rest. This kind of reminds me of a cross between Olde English and Leffe Blonde, of course it’s made at 1/4 the budget of Leffe Blonde so please don't bash it. If you want a better tasting strong beer/ale then go for something like a Leffe Blonde. If you want a six pack of strong beer for the price of two Leffe Blonde's than look no further! Miller Fortune will do the trick.

I purchased a can of Miller Fortune in El Monte, CA/USA for $2.29 USD.
Appearance: The appearance of Miller Fortune had a fizzy bunch of bubbles amidst a yellow puddle of beer within the can.
Colour: Miller Fortune had a vague yellow appearance.
Smell: Miller Fortune had an aroma that resembled the scent of rotten corn.
Taste: Miller Fortune had a vague taste of malts, stale/sweet corn, metal, and grain.
Mouthfeel: Miller Fortune had a light feeling of mellow but kind carbonation. Later, Miller Fortune lost its carbonation. Mellow Fortune had a slight weight within the mouth which would remind a person that time was going too fast because the beer is losing carbonation. One positive point is that Miller Fortune has decent alcohol content.
Overall: People who enjoy the aroma of rotten corn and stale malt will derive amusement from Miller Fortune. People who like a beer that reminds them of grain mixed with light metal will enjoy Miller Fortune.

This is a great beer, similar in taste to the German Mai Bock beer. It has a smooth, malty taste (with no bitter after taste) and is an exquisite chaser to tequila. Please never stop brewing this beer. It is by far my favorite among all of the American beers.

The beer is golden and clear. You can see the carbonation rising quickly to the thick white head that disappeared rather quickly. You can smell the strong scent of alcohol with some spicy hops and a bready malt smell. I get a sweet bread flavor followed quickly by strong alcohol flavor and then a spicy hops flavor to balance it out. I don't sense any complicated flavors. The beer is light bodied and the finish is moderate. The carbonation combines with the spicy hops to really make a nice mouth feel.

The Fortune from Miller I think is better than the 64 rating it is currently receiving. The beer pours a golden clear with thin white head that is not lacing. The scent is faint, but average for beers of this style. The taste starts as a nice robust American pale lager then the finish is a bit medicinal as the higher abv becomes noticeable. The mouthfeel is medium in body with above average carbonation. Overall its ok.

It's cheap, I found it for 5.50 a sixer. It smells like a miller product. Looks like a much better beer than it is. Keeps zero head and I'm pretty sure the only lacing I see is accidental saliva. It reminds me of old English 800. For real. Miller brews that too. This beer has one saving grace. 6.9% alcohol and it ain't a malt liquor and it ain't a crafty 13buck six pack. It's worth a try. It's definitely not a drain pour.

Good beer for Miller to do. Dark and high alc. content makes for a decent beer.

This beer demands a frosty mug and near slush temperature to be best enjoyed. This is the kind of beer that I put in the freezer with a mug, go mow the yard for hour, sit down all hot and sweaty on back porch and pour a nice sweet aroma, golden, malty goodness Fortune. It's delicious when enjoyed in the proper context.

Trying to compare this beer with hearty winter stouts and bochs is obscene. Beer has to be appreciated for what it's for. I've tried bochs in the context described and they don't work. This is a summer beer, it's working beer, it's a get me through the yard work beer. In taste it's pretty much an alcohol boosted Miller Lite and that's perfect for me. In the right context.

I treat beer like wine, I've drank enough varieties that I know which beer would taste best for the moment.

well since it's halloween eve i decided to get some beer but not the same crap i normaly drink. i was looking and thinking of getting some bud light platinum but when browsing saw it was 50 cents cheaper and .9% more alcohal than platinum. 7.49 for a 6 pack is quite expensive for but hey it is a holiday. it dosent have much of a smell which is a plus becuase im not a big fan of the smell of beer. i drank from bottle and it is a pop-off non twist.

considering i don't like miller high life or regular miller i had to debate weather to get it or not. it gose down quite smooth unlike most of the other beers i drink. by far this is the best "miller" beer i tried. it looks like beer, hopefully nateral colours and not toxic yellow 5 and brown coloring, i would rather drink an ugly-looking beer and knowing the fact i'm not being poisoned (exept by the alc ofcourse) overall if you want to spend a little more try a 6 pack.

For a relatively cheap macrobrew rated at 6.9% abv, this is most definitely an underrated beer. It tastes much better than Bud Light Platinum (6.0% abv) and is also slightly cheaper. I am no way saying this is a top of the line beer, but considering its cost, availability, unique bottle design and it's taste, I feel obligated to give it a relatively high rating. Don't let other reviews fool you, this is a beer you should at least give a shot if you are more tailored towards party drinking.

12oz Bottle. Initial response was I liked bottle, kind of odd shape. Turned off that it wasn't a twist off. Date code was listed; Oct 26, 15. I liked the color when poured, slightly darker than MGD or High Life. Smell is more hoppy, Poured nicely with nice slightly darker head, but proper. Looked good in my glass. Smell was slightly more yeasty than I prefer, but acceptable for a higher alcohol beer. Initial taste was more Miller. If you don't like Miller beers, you won't like this. I do like Millers, and I prefer the slight hint of sweetness they give in their beers. This one is obviously a little stronger than their more commercial brands, and the flavor shows. The bottle I had was not chilled properly, served at 55F. I prefer my beer slightly lower, at about 45F. This may explain the higher hops smell. Overall I do like it, and would purchase it again.

I will start with this: I am in no way am double choco ipa whatever you have beer that's one off and $12 for a 4 pack of 6-7% abv beer. I like beer (dark lagers the best). I do not care for over hopped and over flavored beers. Hell, I like putting a lime wedge or two into my Modelo Especials or Corona Extras. This rating is to my taste.
Miller Fortune: made by the people who brought us Miller Lite (my favorite macro light beer). This beer is not bad. The bottles I have are dated JUL0416. I got a 6 pack for $7.49 a week ago (not a big seller in Jacksonville I guess) and now I'm trying it for the first time since I've been 21.
The is beer is actually not bad for the price. It's pushing 7% abv, damn near double your average light beer for $1.50 more a 6-pack. It has a malt start (reminiscent of Shiner Bock but a bit more tarty, but somehow sweet still), followed by an alcoholic bite (hardly) and finishes somewhat grainy, somewhat hoppy (barely). It leaves a small aftertaste for a few seconds and leaves. It tastes like beer, is moderately priced, and packs a punch that some wines don't even add up to. And dare I say, it's not $12 for 4, but 2 extra beers for $4.50 less? Yes, I will buy this beer again, but not often. It's not that it is a bad beer, it is a very good attempt from Miller, but Budweiser Black Crown is the class this beer is in, and Bud Black, to me is slightly better. It could be because the Millers I got were old and Bud Black has always been over a month from their freshness date, I don't know. But I will definitely try this brew again once I find a fresher bottle. Overall a 4.0. I take it over any ipa (aside from Shiner Wicked Ram, which is less available than this) any day of the week, and for a fraction of the cost of the more pricey double minute whatever the fuck ipa's.

Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light amber color, with a thin off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, caramelized malts, some fruit and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel and fruit. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s not a bad beer but there are others in the style that I would pick first.

Miller Fortune is the best economic equation of price vs. taste vs. ABV. It defies your natural expectations for a beer that has 6.9% alcohol by volume. It's ethanol taste is remarkably subtle, the liquid has a light crisp feel. It's light on spice and flavor, but it delivers what it promises which is a higher than mainstream ABV that is potable for the masses. I don't perceive it as insulting. Personally, It's one of my new guilty pleasure beers.

This beer does not remind me of any mainstream beer. The closest I can think of is Carlsberg Elephant. If Miller would only add some more hops this beer could be a 5.0 instead of 4.5 as it is a big malty brew with a good mouth feel but without the requisite hop nose and bittering hop level to balance it. I would call it's style as Maibock if I were to give it an international style description. Miller please rethink the inadequate hop level on this beer and add an adequate hop level and you will sell more. I would still be more inclined to drink this than any of the other American Pilsner lager beers available.
