Can on Mardi Gras:
8% ABV.
Artificial watermelon is in abundance here, and it's not unpleasant, hiding the ABV surprisingly well. I expected a sticky syrupy boozy mess, and this isn't that (though it's certainly sticky). Not watery either...this is surprisingly inoffensive if you can get past the artificial watermelon flavour at its core. Any malts succumb to the whims of the artificial watermelon extract, but I'd bet on cheap 6-row given the neutrality of its malt flavour.
Far from awful, to be fair. The kind of beer I could see a sorority girl swearing by, which is to say it's a beer for those who don't really like beer. I wouldn't nab it again myself, but it has its place and offers more flavour than most budget macrolagers.

Even if I was an under-aged college student, I wouldn't drink this. It has no head or arms and legs either. It's not refreshing, needs acidity and a teeny bit of sweetness to make this work. Just BLAH! Bad mouthfeel, too. I tried to doctor it by adding lemon, a pinch of sweetener. Nope. A shot of vodka helped but barely. Don't waste your time or $.

Redd’s Wicked Wtaermelon
Pours a medium amber color, no head
Aroma is all watermelon, anything else and you trippin
Tastes like the axe head watermelon I reviewed, a very strong watermelon jolly rancher flavor, this time ending closer to a 4 loco
Feel is light, with little body. Does not feel heavy to drink, like the axe head.
Overall, not worth your time 2/10 compared to most beers, 6/10 in the realm of flavored malt beverages.

ONE PINT 8 FL. OZ. can
Served in a pint glass
This beverage pours amber with golden highlights. It is topped with a fleeting off white head that leaves no trace that it ever existed.
The aroma is sweet and cider-like. There is some sweet watermelon aroma to go with the sweet and tart apple aroma.
The taste is reminiscent of a watermelon Jolly Rancher. It is sweet and the apple provides minimal tartness.
Thin like carbonated water
I am a sucker for convenience store singles, especially on a hot day. This beverage is sweet and provides a healthy dose of alcohol to get my afternoon started.

You can do far, far worse when it comes to artificial, fruity beers. Unlike its contemporaries, this Beer doesn't have a strong alcoholic smell or taste. It tastes like a mix between a cider and a jolly rancher. The sugar suppresses the alcohol, ala the college Freshman.
This obviously is not for the beer purists. But after a long, hot day, I could see myself settling down with one of these.

It is a CANQuest (tm) Triple Crown for me on this one! 1) I added it; 2) I got a picture taken, resized & approved & 3) I am the first to review & give it a rating! Not only that, but today is #WatermelonWednesday as I CANtinue to #BumptheHump plus "The Blacklist" is on tonight with James Spader as the wicked Raymond "Redd" Reddington. CAN you tell that I am a tad excited at having found this at the FGBS?
From the CAN: "Ale with natural flavors and caramel color".
First off, it came in a massive 24-fl. oz. CAN, which is why I wanted a pic in place before I Crack!ed it open. I CAN re-cap a Pop!ped bottle, but a Crack!ed CAN is tough to hide. Once the Crack! was acCANplished, I signaled the crane into position to lift this bad boy & CANmence a slow, gentle Glug. I would not have attempted anything else since the potential for a huge liquid mess was so great. A vigorous in-glass swirl raised a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, tawny head that acted like pop & fizzled away to nothingness. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. The nose was unmistakably redolent with watermelon. Mmm. Frankly, though, I prefer watermelon during the summer. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not terribly beyond it, either. The taste was watermelon, but it also had the tart-sourness of a watermelon Jolly Rancher. Hmm. I am ambivalent as to my feelings about that. On the one hand, I generally eschew sweet stuff & a watermelon beer could certainly have been sweet. On the other (seCANd) hand, I am not a big fan of tart-sour, either. 8=( All of that said, it certainly evoked watermelon & I think that it would be a very enjoyable beer on a hot, humid summer's day. Finish was semi-dry & quite refreshing. The 8% ABV was well-hidden, rendering it somewhat dangerous. I will be curious to see what others think as it garners more reviews & ratings.
