This is just an awful beer. I have drank a lot of this beer over time, but only for tailgates and parties. It is by far the worst of the major light lagers in my opinion.

It pours a pale, corn-silk yellow. Little head appears, and in no time there's no trace of any at all.

It smells as light as it should, I suppose, as in very little aroma. What's there is slightly sweet and stale.

There's a very mild grain component in the flavor, with little hop presence of any value. There's the mass-produced shadow of adjuncts lurking all about every taste.

There's little more texture or character than seltzer water. The carbonation is a plus, but the slick and vanishing feel is a considerable negative.

OK, it's a light beer, and that's the bottom line here. You can drink dozens, but my point is, why? To get drunk? I can't think of any reason why I would have another short of my brother pleading me to have one with him, and even then he'd have to sound as pathetic as he did last night. This is a solid no-go for me, though I suppose the drinkability will lead some to senseless abuse.

Not the worst light lager out there, and better than many AALs. Pours a light golden yellow, white head that doesn't last long. Aromas of corn cereal and dry grass. Lots of sweetness on the palate, with a little of that lingering on the palate for a moment. Dry finish, slightly bitter. An okay diversion, good cookout beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Review date: 10/8/2013. Best before 12/23/2013.

Appearance: Extremely clear, golden color. Tons of carbonation streaming up the glass. Pours about two fingers worth of a bright, white head that quickly recedes. Minimal lacing left upon the glass.

Smell: Nothing much to describe. Some very faint notes of sweetness, light corn aroma. Passing notes of cereal grain. Very hard to pick out at first, but they intensify as the beer warms.

Taste: Very light. Some more sweet corn character at the front of the tongue. A bit of an artificial sweetener taste, fading into some light cereal grain. Just a touch of bitterness at the end, but very faint. As it warms, more of that artificial sweetener finish.

Mouthfeel: Very little body to this one, much like drinking water. The carbonation does scrub over the tongue aggressively at first, backing off as the beer warms up. Very easy to drink.

Overall: Well, the "Lite" is certainly accurate, very light on aroma and taste before it warms up, and when they do emerge from blandness, they're not a pleasant change. Very easy to drink, and can be enjoyed in an appropriate atmosphere, but overall it's a very unremarkable and forgettable beer. Drinkable, but not really worth picking up.

This was the same as all other highly advertised BMC’s. Aroma is grainy, flavor is bland and palate is stale. Cheap and tolerable when it’s served very cold, and there is nothing else available, but needs to be avoided if other decent, non-BMC choices,. If I I have to drink a hgihly marketed "light" beer, I’ll stick with Amstel.
