Drank from the 40. Sad to see they don't offer this in glass bottles anymore.

Look: A golden, piss yellow color beer. Lots of foam in the bottle.

Aroma: Sour apples. Honey. Bread.

Taste: Fruity. Cornbread, red apples, sugar cookies. A little metallic on the finish.

Feel: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not that syrupy or sickly sweet.

Overall: ""Okay"" (for malt liquor).

For a plastic bottle, I expected much, much worse.
It probably helps that my bottle is only two months old.

Look - I kept this bad boy in the bottle, it has a golden yellow color, as soon as I unscrewed the top it hissed with loads of carbonation.

Smell - Sweet corn, sulfur, skunk

Taste - Corn syrup, sweet booze, skunked to hell, some thin malt hidden somewhere. Has a syrupy sweet aftertaste with lingering skunk.

Feel - Medium bodied, aggressive carbonation but still finishes "wet"

Overall - Clear bottles don't help this malt liquor out at all. With that said it's all I can find around here. I've had this probably a dozen times now, hate it each time, but I keep coming back for more. I feel ashamed.

"Go on and gimme some o'that O.E." Yeah, it's nice that this brew was mentioned in the classic film Menace 2 Society, but outside of that you should avoid it at all cost.

Poured from can that was in freezer as this the only way to drink malt liquor. It pours a standard gold color with a big white head. There is a good lacing left in the glass. This is your typical malt liquor, nothing special here.

Man, when you go here, you are in trouble. This is a brutal yellow appearance. Aroma of corn syrup and alcohol.

Taste, much like the aroma is devoid of malt and hops. There's maybe a mild sweet fruity contribution from the yeast.

I mean I can get down with this from time to time, I prefer the 22 or 24 oz tallboys, that shit gets warm 40oz at a time in the summer. Blast some E-40 and Too $hort, get yo' swerve on and shit.

5.90% ABV. Per 12 fl oz serving: 160 (k)cal, 10.5g carbohydrates, 0g fat, 1.2g protein.

Clear plastic screw-top bottle purchased at a dodgy Brooklyn bodega. I love how in spite of the bottle being flexible plastic they advertise it prominently as "shatter proof" on the label. Malt liquor.

Pours an aggressive head indicative of blatant overcarbonation. Body is a clear clean copper of subpar vibrance. A layman would say it "looks like beer." Retention is a good 8 minutes or so, but aside from that it's pretty mediocre.

AROMA: Some grain, some biscuit malt, some artificial syrupy malt extract, imbalanced (high) sweetness.

Yeah, I can't say I'm looking forward to trying this.

TASTE & TEXTURE: Horrid imbalance. Sweet, syrupy, off-putting. Thicker and heavier than it should be (especially at a scant 5.90% ABV). Poorly built, but at least it's smooth and wet. The coating feel is decent, I guess. Not as boozy as many poorly executed malt liquors. But certainly somewhat buttery.

Shallow and simple. Sticky garbage.

OVERALL: I'm surprised the homeless go for this in the U.S. given that other equally badly executed malt liquors are the same price and offer a higher ABV; this is clearly a bang-for-buck buy but then I suppose if you're in the homeless demographic this beer caters to you wouldn't be so sharp on math. I somehow managed to skip this brew while a student; I'd advise others to skip it indefinitely.

That said, I expected worse from a 40oz plastic bottle brew.

Honestly, the Olde English 800 is godsend. This aromatic refreshment offers a rich, smooth taste with an other-worldly finish. Go ahead, treat yourself: spark a blunt, sit back, and relax to the sound of that seal popping.
OE is, truly, the king of malt liquor

The look of this beer is very crappy looking, almost urine like in terms of appearance. The smell of it is difficult to describe, but I would say that it is generally very flat, which is reflected in it's taste. The taste isn't exactly flat however, it's a horrid mixture of off flavors that makes it very difficult to drink. It doesn't even have all that high of an alcohol content, which is really all that it advertises itself as. Six percent doesn't really even qualify as high gravity in my opinion.

I think people are under rating how good this beer is to other high alcohol content beers on the market. If you want to get a cheap drunk on this is the beer for you.

Bad, even for a malt liquor. Smells like barley mixed with gasoline. Ugly yellow straw color. Tastes similar to the smell. Could use more hops aromas and tastes. If affordability was a rating this would get above a one, but it's not.

Appearance - This beer pours a crystal clear deep golden color with 3 fingers of white foamy head, the head seems to stay and in the glass carbonation looks fairly lively. Classic malt liquor looks!

Aroma - It is extremly grainy smelling with quite abit of corn girt aroma in the background, there is also a metallic aroma and that classic lager yeast aroma!

Taste - Very much like the aroma, This is grainy up front followed by a smack of corn meal than grainy again with almost a brown bread grainyness, a light metallic flavor and alcohol in the background. It is very criso. really not an appealing taste!

Feel - It is very light crisp and dry and the carbonation really doesn't feel as present as it looks in the glass!

Overall - So the question before buying this beer was, How can I call myself a beer reviewer without reviewing the classics. This will probably actually I can guaranty this will be the last time I drink old E. I grew up seeing this one everywhere in the 90's from the cheap beer iin gangster movies to what rappers drank!

If it has one thing going for it, it is a cheap drunk!. Other than that I don't find it different from most malt liquors which makes sense as I dont find any major differences between its baby brother miller light or the other BMC's. This beer is overly grainy, overly corny with an alcohol taste in the back no burn though. It really doesnt make you feel good to drink. If you don't feel the need to try everything, pass on this one unless your extremely broke! cheers!

APPEARANCE: A very clear golden, three fingers of foamy white head that lingers a while. A whole lot of bubbles rising in the glass. Some good lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Smells quite grainy, almost a rancid smell, sunflower seeds.
TASTE: Really about the same as the aroma of it. A bit of an off aftertaste, but I don't know how to describe it.
FEEL: Not nearly as carbonated as you would think by looking at it, as far as feel goes. A little slick, leaves a little residue of some sort.

Poured at 35°F from a 24oz can (canned on 17Oct15) into a nonic pint glass. Consumed on 27May16.
LOOK: A fingers worth one minute. Gold in color. Rising bubbles are moderate in quantity and are both small and medium in size. Lacing is thin and subtle.
SMELL: Strong aromas of water entangle with mild aromas of water, subtle aromas of water, and hints of corn, sugar, and alcohol. Somebody put a little bit of beer in my can of water.
TASTE: Mild corn flavors dominate the palate at first sip. What happened to the water I was smelling? A subtle sweetness is presented as the sugar flavors enter next while the corn flavors grow much stronger. Subtle flavors of boiled cabbage and tin bring a confusing and unwanted complexity to this disasterpiece as sugar flavors grow slightly stronger. Finally, hints of alcohol finish this off as all previous flavors persist.
FEEL: Full-bodied and highly carbonated. Goes down rough due to the carbonation levels. Finishes with a strong and unpleasant dryness.
NOTE: Drank about 6oz of this. Drainpouring the rest. Please don't drink this. If you're drinking beer for the sole purpose of getting drunk, you're beer-ing wrong. Try something a lot better than this. Like a Bud Light.

Light lemon yellow color without cap or lace to speak of.

Aroma of sweet grain with a touch of floral hops.

Taste is very simple sweet grain and yes, the hops are noticeable. Flavors are more medium than mild and are in fact pleasant, clean, without off flavors or alcohol fusels. Pour this one carefully so as to preserve the carbonation. An aggressive pour makes the brew taste flat.

Texture is medium.

Overall it delivers a simple, clean, relatively dry malt brew with a bit higher alcohol. I suspect such brews will remain the stuff of jokes but so is Wonder Bread and a host of other ordinary consumables.

Pours a dark rusty gold with high carbonation.

Musty and earthy grains.

Tastes a little earthy and musty.

Light-bodied, high carbonation, boozy.

Overall, boozy but gets the job done.

My first Malt Liquor. Not knowing better I have consumed a lot of these. Looks a little dark but smells like a wet animal. Tastes too heavy on alcohol even though it stands at 5.90%. Feels heavy on the carbonation. If you need a Malt Liquor I would suggest others but I suppose we all have to try things at least once.

One of my favorite $2 train beers. Very drinkable adjunct beer when it's cold, as with most of them gets nasty warm. But that's more reason to pound it and let it do its' job. There is more to life than a craft beer.

OE, Eightball, OE800. These are just some of the names that this brew goes under. Hints of metal in the nose along with cereal. Taste is corn and booze. Looks like other malt liquors. Overall, an average malt liquor.

Drank from the 32 OZ bottle (without the paper bag). Aroma- not a pleasant aroma, mostly stale corn and wet grass. Appearance- crystal light golden color with lots of carbonation. Taste- really! It is made to impair and not to impress your taste buds. Overall- this is not a good beer and it isn't even a good malt liquor. Colt 45, Magnum and Private Stock are a lot better than this.

A: The beer is crystal clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of corn are present in the nose along with some hints of grain alcohol.
T: Similar to the smell, the beer tastes like an alcoholic version of corn flakes and has some amounts of associated sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't all that offensive for a malt liquor, so if you are looking for something cheap that you can get a buzz off of, this isn't a bad option. There are only some traces of alcohol.

Damn, I drank the ice cold Westcoast (7.5% ABV) version and it felt great. I was happy that a friend of mine brought me a bottle from his US trip. In Germany I havent seen those 40 ounce bottles except in some well-known hip-hop movies :) I was happy to enjoy this swill. It had no bad aftertaste at all and the 7.5% ABV were well hidden. I wish in Europe we could buy those 40s in supermarkets but I think that will never happen. Y'all americans should be proud of your malt liquors and this brew is the king of them!

It's a forty. A great way to get your drank on for the evening for less than $3.

Put some orange juice in it to make it palatable and a lot easier on your stomach, and it actually can taste OK once you are drunk enough.

Back in early college the 7.5 AB and gangsta rap marketing made this a go to; now 20 years later I can say this was awful. It served itS purpose, but it is horrible. Only recommended to those looking to throw up or for the once in a lifetime game of Edward Fortyhands. - Cheers

Smells terrible when poured in a glass but if you make a brass monkey (Drink it down to the label and pour Sunny D back to the top) it is pretty damn good.
