Style: American Adjunct Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.60%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Miller High Life, also known as the Champagne of Beers, is a quintessentially classic, American-style lager. In 1903, Frederick Miller created Miller High Life because he believed that the good life, the High Life, should be accessible to everyone, not just the upper crust. To this day, Miller High Life continues to be faithfully brewed as a golden pilsner, utilizing light-stable galena hops from the Pacific Northwest and a select combination of malted barley.

I really think many that review this beer give it lower marks because they think it's not cool to drink an 'old' beer. SOOO many people think higher price = better... just not true. Don't be a follower. This is just a good, drinkable beer. As always, better in a bottle, but don't let light get to the clear bottles.

Okay so I bleed Red, White and Blue! To be honest this is one my favorites AAL! The taste is of corn, slight malt and grains. Light carbonation and corn after taste which I love, LOL. Definitely 100% American. Sorry if I seem a little too patriotic. That's just how I am. In NJ you can get a case of (12) of 32 oz tall boys for $14 before taxes. Can you really ask for more than that. I truly love MHL and AAL beers, especially those made here in the USA. Pick up a case if you can, you'll enjoy it! God bless America and MHL!

Drank from 12 ounce glass bottle. Ratings are done based on this style of beer.

Look - The clear slender bottle looks great. Labels are nice with a bit of pseudo-classiness. Beer is a pale golden color with lots of visible carbonation. Creates a thick pillowy white head.

Smell - Slight grain odor, but otherwise very neutral with not much going on.

Taste - Mild malt tones with a bit of corn sweetness and hints of rice. Par for the course in the style.

Feel - Thin with far too much carbonation. Lives up to the tagline of "Champagne of Beers," as far as its bubbly nature is concerned.

Overall - It's extreme carbonation gives it an interesting character, and it's great looks make it more appealing from the shelf than other macrobrews.

24 ounce can into lager glass, best before 5/14/2018. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt/corn and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is a good pale adjunct lager style. All around good robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Flavorful and never watery feeling for the ABV. Despite having corn there isn't a ton in there, plenty of barley character. Clean malt/grain flavors and solid earthy hop presence. A nicely enjoyable offering, and great style example.

The legendary weeb "Digibro" once described Miller High Life as "the meme beer".

I don't drink this one often anymore, but back in my earlier drinking days, it's something I'd pick up here and there, usually from my dad.

Drank straight from the bottle. For what it is, it's all right. Much better than other mainstream stuff honestly, not nearly as watery. Decent flavor, easy to drink, fair priced. Wouldn't rule out picking up another one one of these days.

First beer I ever had. Very easy to drink, very refreshing. If I'm really thirsty and want to chug some beers, this is it. Go to beer when I want something quick and cheap.
