I was able to pop in to C'est What on my last trip to Toronto. Unfortunately, time (or lack of time) and an unpredictable schedule kept me from checking out some other local hot spots, or from trying to meet up with some other BAs.
Walking distance from the hotel, and near to ACC and HHOF. I stopped in early afternoon for a couple of pints and a quick bite.
Atmosphere is great - its a beer bar - not a fancy restaurant. I like the cozy feel of a basement (this is how I want my basement to feel and be decorated).
I sat at the bar and was quickly helped by a very friendly and knowledgable bartender. All the beers available are Canadian, mostly local, and presented on an up-to-date beer menu (also on their website). They had a number of beers on cask, more on nitro, plus 5 of their own house brands. I had a Neustadt Texas Tea cask, and Denison's Weissbier, both very good, proper temp, etc.
Food was very good, I had the shrimp springrolls, quick kitchen service, reasonably priced.
Can't wait to get back to T.O.

Good menu, huge rotating range of craft beers, many cask conditioned. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. All round one of my favourite places to have a few in the city.

Stopped by for a birthday lunch and left very happy. C'est What is located across the street from Toronto's "Flatiron Building" (Not sure of the actual name) in a cozy, comfortable and attractive subterranean room decorated in light wood and stonework. There is a lengthy bar on one side and the usual smattering of tables and such. Very atmospheric. Along with this is a very impressive beer list that offers their own house beers and several local crafts. (They do have something on cask, as well.) Excellent service and some hearty grub made for a fine lunch amid the hustle and bustle of the city's downtown core.
During my visit, I enjoyed these: Hogtown Kolsch, Al's Cask, Joan's Dark Secret and a tasty IPA from one of Ontario's newer brewers Rhyme and reason.
A worthy stop when in Toronto.
