A: Pours dark copper with a large, a bit uneven light brown head. Slow dissipation leaves lots of lacings.

S: Some roasted malty sweetness. A dry bitterness to it. Some cherries and dark dried fruits. Quite nice.

T: Really nice bitter hops up front, then there's light roasted sweet malt. Dark dried fruits and a heavy cherryness.

M: Long really nice bitter aftertaste. Body is medium to full and carbonation is rich and smooth.

D: A quite nice Euro Dark Lager.

2009 version. 500 ml bottle, from Systembolaget. ABV is 6.0%. Mahogany coloured beer, big cream-coloured long-lasting head with an orangey hue. Nice malty aroma, notes of caramel, brown bread and other baked goods, some moderate fruity notes too. The flavour is fairly rich and malty with notes of caramel. Dry hops, some spice and burnt caramel in the finish. Some resinous hops and distinct "burnt" notes in the long aftertaste. Quite good.

An opaque black lager beer with a thick head that dissipates quite quickly.

The aroma is full of malt and fresh hops, with a slight smokiness. The beer has a quite a lot of texture for a lager beer and there is a great deal of hop bitterness.

I drank this beer at Christmas Eve with the Swedish Christmas cuisine. It turns out that this beer is a great supplement to the salty and fat food. However, it is first and foremost a table drink, and isn't as good on its own.

An amber, dark read clear liquid, rather much foam slowly settling down, with remaining lacerations.

Smell of dried citrus, some grassy, fruity tones. A metallic hint.

Clear bitterness but rather fresh and not sweet as most Swedish "julöl" (yule ale, christmas beer).

Moderate to small sized bubbles, very refreshingly to drink.

In all a good clean winter brew.

The colour is deep brown-amber; the large airy head is beige.

The malty smell is bitter and roasted with spicy-fruity notes of apricots, orange peel, nutmeg, beef stock and hints of black currant and grapefruits.

The taste is first malty, then bitter notes blends with somewhat earthy lightly roasted meaty notes and hints of roasted fruits and homemade toffee. Lots of flavours in this one... There is a fresh bitterness in the aftertaste, as well as flavours of dark rye bread, nutmeg, cardamom, bitter oranges and barbequed meat. The finish is a little earthy/buttery.

The carbonation is fresh with medium sized bubbles. The liquid is at the same time light and smooth (a little like Guinness).

A dark lager, but the flavours remind more of brown ale or light old ale.
