The colour is warm brown; the two finger head is warm white with an uneven top. Some lacing occurs.

The smell is sweet and hoppy with complex notes of fruit candy. Hints of coffee, rolled oats, plums and a bitter hint.

The taste is mellow and inviting; a fine blend of fresh bitter notes and smooth malty flavours. Dried fruits, lightly roasted malts, citric hints of grapefruits and lime, milk chocolate and sweet bread. The aftertaste got a growing dry metallic bitterness and some light fruity notes and a touch of vegetables.

The carbonation is light to medium; the small bubbles are soft. The liquid is on the lighter side.

I think that if the APA style would have been invented in Europe, it would taste something like this: Quite malty with a moderate bitterness. I could care for another one, but I wouldn't buy a full crate.

The beer is clear copper with an off-white head that leaves good lacing.

The smell is american hops, grape-fruit, pine and flowers. Sweet tones, dried apricot, raisin. A hint of ocean (salt).

The taste is well-balanced, not too sweet, rather pury candid sugar, some biscuit, bitter grape-fruit peel.

A medium carbonation, a bit tingly. A dry feeling, despite an initial oily feeling.

This beer is not specific "Easterly" in the way I'm used to (a sweeter spicer brew), more a standard well done APA. Nice and relaxing.

Pours a brown-ish amber with a moderate head that dies down pretty fast, leaving some lacing.

Smells lightly of american hops and brown sugar, also some fruity malt notes coupled with almonds.

Taste is fresh and light, floral hops and a bready maltiness with a carramellized hint to it.

A really easy drink, pleasant and fresh to the mouth.

This is a really great beer coming out of the little brewery Fuglsang.

In my opinion is the level of bitterness in this beer closer to an IPA than an APA.

It is nicely balanced, with a nice amount of malt, which gives this beer a super nice mouthfeel and a nice long lasting lacing on the glass - and well dry hopped, which is rarely for any danish 'main stream' beer production.

The difference I find between this and a typical NW IPA/APA is the lack of pine aromas. The hops used has a quite fruity aroma to them.

This is for sure the best beer in I have seen in denmark, when you compared to the price of it vs the content. And it is for sure better than the 'cheap' microbrew apa/IPA you find around in denmark or the US.

It is a real a shame that the Dane's doesn't seem to appreciate a well hopped ale like this one. It is truly out of its league compared to the watering beer similar breweries make.

Well done Fuglsang, the only thing this beer is missing is a higher alcohol content, which would have paired well with malt balance.
