On tap at Black Beach Restaurant in Vik, Iceland.

This pours a light yellowish, with a small head, and no lacing.

Smells like...not a whole lot. Faint hops and a vaguely sweet malt thing.

This is subpar, but I enjoyed it anyway since I had just seen the black sand beach at Reynisfjara and I was in a good mood. Nonetheless, it's mediocre and near tasteless, with a vague sweetness to it, and just a hint of hop bitterness.

This is light bodied, bland but drinkable.

Typical Euro lager garbage here.

Outside of the micros, I had this and it's stablemate Gull while in Iceland. Bolo is far superior to Gull, maltier, hoppier, fuller body and more alcohol. If you're in Iceland looking for an inexpensive (cough) refreshing beer for balmy icelandic days (more coughing) choose this over Gull unless you love lite beers.

50cl on tap in Vik, Iceland, served in the proper glassware.

Body is a clear medium golden-straw yellow body, one finger white head, fair retention, not much lacing. Smells of bread, biscuit, touch of noble hop aroma, a bit grassy. Flavour is similarly biscuity, bread, grass, touch of floral. Mouthfeel is thinner bodied, crisp and refreshing, but otherwise bland without too much flavour.
