I've tried Pale Ales before and some of them are excessively bitter, this one is very well balanced, it has a nice aroma and overall is real good. Recommended Mexican beer.

A pleasant, well made pale ale, but more conservative and not so much on the hoppy side.

12oz bottle, served at Club de la Cerveza in Playa del Carmen. Poured into a pint glass; pour is a darker orange-caramel body with a one finger white head, good retention. No lacing. Darker than expected for a pale ale, but still. Smells of rich English caramel, floral and resinous aromas, touch of grapefruit. Flavour is an interesting mix of hop and malt with caramel, toffee, grapefruit, and floral notes. Touch of resin finishes things off. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, appropriately carbonated, nice complexity and depth although without much hoppy punch to it.

This beer is super carbonated. It actually foamed out of the bottle quite a bit when I opened it. When you actually are able to, it pours a light brown color (actually pretty dark for a pale ale) with a huge rocky white head. The body is somewhere between light and medium, but definitely on the heavy end for a pale ale. The smell is bready and a faintly citrusy lemon scent. It is very malty with a nice bready and fairly strong caramel flavor with a faint citrus aftertaste. It also has some pretty strong hop presence that gives it a pretty bitter aftertaste. Though classified as an English pale ale, I think this tastes more like a pale ale done in the style of SoCal with a little more malt presence. I am pleasantly surprised by this. I thought Mexico and craft beers an odd combination, but it’s actually pretty good if a little pedestrian and not quite as polished as some of the actual SoCal pales it emulates.

Amber color with a thin head with medium retention.
Light aroma with notes of papaya, some citrusy and bread malt.
Flavor is much more interesting and bolder. Notes of papaya, spices, American yeast, toasted malts, some pine and mild grapefruit. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body.
Good English Pale Ale. I meant it felt more English (its base) than American.

L- Beautiful amber body and white head.
S- Sweet maple.
T- Sweet syrup taste, then turns into a slightly bitter-sweet mix with hops.
F- Smooth, crisp, syrupy.
O- Not as hoppy as I would expect but this is really good.

Drunk on a hot day in Merida Mexico so that may be causing a higher rating than what it would otherwise give. Hard to see the beer and smell it since it is in a bottle. I was surprised though that it is so light of a color. It tastes towards the porter side and could very well pass for a dark beer on a blind taste test.

Taste is hoppy very much on the piney side. As if it has been dry hopped. It is not too subtle but a much better choice than the lager swill sold everywhere in Mexico. Has a fruity yeasty aspect to it and also rather sweet. Dinner rolls, brandy soaked apricots, pine, maraschino cherries. Reminds me of Ratsherrn pale ale in Hamburg that was my go to pale ale when I lived in Germany in both taste and experience. If I were living in Mexico this might become my standby.

Mouthfeel is excellent, viscous and syrupy.

A- Slightly pinkish tones....strawberry copper in color....so this is already unique! The head is quite fine in appearance and doesn't really settle too much which is a very good thing for a change! It stays around one finger thick and is off white in color. Lacing is also good with a solid foam ring being created around my glass every time I set it straight! Carbonation appears to be fine and mellow as well....a fine looking ale!

S- Caramel sweet malts and balancing hop bitterness make up the majority of this Pale Ale in aromas....very typical and expected, but worth it for sure! Nothing much else going on here but really, should there be?

T- Again, this is a very balanced flavor profile, and follows the aromas very closely! Sweetness is derived from a blend of caramel, toasty brown sugars and perhaps a hint of maple. The bitterness is a combination of citrus, Earthy notes, leaves, fresh oily floral tones , and does take over slightly at the end from the malts, almost leaning this towards an IPA style, or English Pale Ale....different for a Mexican brew.....most appreciated!

M/O- Medium bodied and smooth, velvety texture, this one is surprisingly well crafted....sorry, but I had small expectations of a beer from Mexico! This has all of the characteristics of a well made craft beer, and holds to the style well in my opinion! I enjoyed this one and would buy it again for sure!

Pours a hazy dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, fruit, and slight funk aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, caramel, fruit, earth, and slight funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a high level of carbonation with a crisp and prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer that is showing a minor amount of infection that is not super noticeable, but it definitely takes away from what this beer is supposed to be.

Serving type: bottle.

Underrated little pale from baja, Cali. More malty than a West Coast style, but far more hoppy than your usual fare south of the border. I wouldn't have ever tried this but the Mexican restaurant I was at didn't have a lot of options. I was pleasantly surprised.

Bottle tracked down at a wine market in Cabo San Lucas. Pours a cloudy reddish amber with three fingers of frothy resilient beige head. Aroma is full of dried fruit, spice, and nutty malt elements, with a tinge of leafy and citrus rind evoking hops. Classic English pale ale flavor: Grapefruit marmalade, apricot, and butterscotch with some interesting spice flavors, reminiscent of cinnamon and ginger. Subtle nuttiness in the background. Lemon and lime rinds blossom over the course of multiple sips and there's also a developing sour apple note. Big diacetyl flush that I view as a plus in this particular brew. Moderate to heavy bodied with fairly subtle carbonation. Malty sweet finish with some citrus hop character. Rife with classic English bitter flavors albeit a sweeter and heavier take on the style.

This Baja beer has a nice orangish ruby hue that definitely had some IPA style citrus notes on the nose. I was expecting it to be a little more bitter but there was a slight malt aftertaste that hung around for a bit that balanced out the flavour. This beer was very lightly carbonated and produced a razor thin head.
