12oz can. No dating information found.
Black colored body. One thick finger of tan head, which rather quickly recedes to scattered islands and a cap. Leaves a few scattered small spots of lacing.
Aroma of milk chocolate and dark fruit.
Taste is chocolate and black cherry. All continue into the aftertaste.
Thicker mouth feel. Slightly heightened presence on the tongue but no burn. Higher ABV% is well hidden. Supportive carbonation.

Smells like milk chocolate. Very very strong flavor (I know it's a quad, but it's just a little too much); quite sweet. Tastes like milk chocolate and...cherry? Maybe dried fruit. Bit of spice. Hint of alcohol, but not much for 10.5 abv. Feels like cocoa in the mouth. Medium bodied and sharply carbonated.

Appearance - The beer poured a strange shade od brown that reminded me of watered down cola.
Smell - As best I can descibe it, the beer had potent chocolate notes with a Belgian presence.
Taste - At first, this is like drinking a thin, but not overly sweet, chocolate syrup. Other notes include light banana, raisins, and a light sugar sweetness. The chocolate stays relatively strong in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - For a quad, the beer did seem a tad thin. I expect Belgians to be stickier.
Overall - The 10.5% abv is well masked. This drinks like a cordial. Far from perfect, this is still well done.

Ruddy dark brown with a thin, fizzy, cola-colored head.
Chocolate, plum, coffee and carbon dioxide in the nose. It is somewhat reminiscent of a fruit-filled chocolate.
A weird chocolate and plum mix again up front in the taste, with some dull hops and coffee in the aftertaste. Very fruity and sweet.
It's thin-to-medium bodied for the style and surprisingly still in the feel. Between the look, stillness and sweetness it almost comes across as a flat soda feel.
Honestly, the sweet, flat-cola, chocolate and plum combo doesn't work for me.

this was a bit of a weird one, not totally lost on me, but definitely a unique brew that takes some pondering to figure out. a belgian quad with a load of chocolate in it. its a great idea, but the beer to me tastes a little cheap and forced, its weirdly perfumy, like the chocolate shouldt be this aromatic, it also smells and tastes like cherry coke to me, with a nice fruity sweet malt base and a syrupy texture, hints of cocoa and food chemicals, its good, but its strange and new, and maybe too flavored. i could see some oak really mellowing this out, but i think it also needs to ferment down a bit more, strong as it already is, there is just so much sweetness on the back end of this, even for the style. i also think the belgian yeast element is a little under developed, or else lost to the chocolate and almost floral fruitiness in here. id like a little more spice from it and a little more breakdown of these sugars. good carbonation and it feels like a belgian to me, with a lightness even though its huge. cool brew, id love the wood aged version i think, but this seems overdone to me. maybe just my tastes though, as it looks like people really dig this...
