Pours black with a very small amount of head with no lacing. The smell of chocolate first and then dark malts. On the taste the quad comes through with dark fruits underneath a nice sweet chocolate. There is no alcohol taste for the 10.5%. The mouthfeel is low to medium carbonation and reasonably smooth. Overall a nice beer that's very easy to drink for 10.5%.

Pours black. Got a little bit of khaki fizz to rise to the top, but that was it. Poured straight into the glass. Not off to a good start here. Chocolate with a twinge of Belgian yeast in the aroma. Chocolate flavors mingle with Belgian yeast spice, and dark fruits. Feel has a medium consistency, with fairly easy drink-ability. A bit harsh carbonation. Overall, a beer that is different, but still interesting to try. I don't think it delivered for me, but your mileage may vary.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

This is a great choice. I went to get my growler filled and tried a sample of this one. I didn't try anymore samples. I had it filled right away.

Dark, light, minimal head.

Some fizzy bubbles surface and dance on the tongue.

I get chocolate, but also some licorice and/or alfalfa, which I suppose is the work of the yeast, which I get a little extra of on its own. There is sweetness but not much bitterness to this.

L: black in the glass with no head
S: very faint bakers chocolate. Not much in the nose at all
T: wow,big bakers chocolate. But it fades fast, wish there was others chocolate notes or roasted notes. Straightforward, one flavor, it's decent.
F: very thin, and flavors fade fast
O: glad I got a single in a mix a six.

2011 bottling

Appearance: Pours coffee brown with a modest head; very leggy, with dots of lacing streaming down

Smell: Ovaltine, vanilla and brown sugar

Taste: Ovaltine forward, with brown sugar and vanilla flavors developing; hints of dark fruit and Belgian yeast emerge, through the middle, but the finish is much like the start

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A bit one dimensional and hard to think of as a Quad, frankly; not bad for an after dinner drink but awfully sweet for anything else

Thanks, millerbuffoon, for the opportunity
