Pours a semi hazed golden straw hue with a bubbly three finger head and lacing everywhere, the smell is freshly cut grass, honeyed malts, chardonay oak, white grapes and must, the mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and medium bodied and has tastes of lemons, limes, sherbet, herbal sticky hops, barnyard funk and finished with a citrus bitterness and overall its definately one of the best Farmhouse Ales i have tried would drink/buy again cheers.

Poured into a chalice. This one pours a hazy pale straw color with a thick cap of creamy white head with good retention.

Floral hops on the aroma with some hints of lemon and citrus in the background. Notes of straw and hay with some pale malts. The pallet gives of some spicy notes with some sweet fruit and a little bit of a hop bite in the finish.

The body is medium with soft carbonation. It's a bit sticky on the finish. Overall this one is enjoyable. Lots of good flavors and nice and drinkable.

Poured into a chalice. The color is very light straw, with a bit of haze. There is a large, white foamy head.

The initial aroma has some nice European hops mixed with light bready pilsner malt. There is some nice zesty citrus like fruit in the aroma as well. All the aromatic components mix very well together.

The taste features orange zest and slightly sweet malt. This is light and refreshing.

This is delicious. This is everything I look for in a non-funky saison; that is it's light, crisp and refreshing. It also features quality hop and yeast integration. Yum.

750mL bottle thanks to [email protected] Liquor. About the 5th time I've had this.

Plenty hazy pale straw with a busily rising rocky white head, which, after peaking, falls relatively fast with the odd spot of lace.

Contrast of clean and refined peppery grassy and bright herbal aromas against sour notes of cumquat, unripe green apples and grapefruit, with some banana esters and doughy yeast behind. Mild honey and candy floss sweetness. Awesome.

Similar flavour profile. Sweet and tart dominate at different times. Lightish body with moderate jazzy carbonation feeds a clean, dry finish.

Complex and intriguing while highly drinkable. Something of a benchmark Saison for me.

750ml bottle purchased at Amanti Vino in Montclair, NJ. I believe this was a 2012 vintage but I’m not 100% positive about that. Pours a hazy and shimmering light gold color with an absurd cap of creamy white foam that hangs around for a long time, finally settling to a thin band on top of the beer. Lacing is extensive and clings to the sides of the glass in creamy sheets. Great appearance.

Very complex aroma; lots of black pepper and other spices (clove is most prominent); some hay and mustiness; bready malt and honey; lemons and other citrus fruits; green apples and other spicy, yeasty esters. Extremely interesting to smell and slowly opens up to reveal further nuances.

The flavor is also quite nice if not as heavily layered as the nose. Assertive yeast, spice, and pepper open things up, followed by the bready malt notes and a light honeyed sweetness that dries up completely in the finish. Subtler fruity aspects emerge as well; citrusy, lemony hops, green apple, hints of melon and pear. If I had a criticism of the beer it would be that the pepper and spice overwhelm the other flavors to a small degree, dominating the flavor profile a smidge, but that’s nitpicking. This is a mighty nice saison.

Body is medium to slightly light; carbonation is crisp and strong; the feel is clean and refreshing. A pleasure to drink; goes down easy and has a lot to offer fans of this style.

A: The beer is cloudy straw yellow in color. A careful pour resulted in a massive two finger high white head that has excellent properties and consistently left a head covering the surface and lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of peppery spices in the nose along with hints of lemon citrus.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the pepper is a bit stronger, and the flavors are more complex with notes of yeast and hints of lemon citrus.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has no traces of alcohol in the taste considering that it is a very strong saison.

A: Pours a cloudy pale golden yellow in color. The beer has a three to four finger tall bright white head that slowly reduces to thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a small slightly thicker patch and a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Significant (maybe even massive) amounts of carbonation are observed.

S: There are light to moderate aromas of yeast, black pepper, and lemon/citrus. Just the slightest hint of funk but it is really just in the background.

T: Strong flavors of yeast, lemon/citrus, and lots of black pepper. Very light hint of funk that makes me sure this is a saison at the first taste.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Alcohol is extremely well hidden. This beer is very easy to drink and borders on being sessionable. Wonderful flavors and complexity, probably one of the better saisons I have had ever.

Golden straw color...lasting head of different size bubbles. Mild funk and light sweet malt aroma. Rich flavor with a touch of funk, bread, mild malt...notes of white pepper, orange. Really easy drinking and delicious. Not as assertive as many saisons, but I find this easy and tasty, something I could easily down a bottle.

Poured a cloudy yellow/gold with good carbonation and big, lasting head on top of a spicy, peppery, cloe-like aroma. Also hints of citric hops and a touch of herbalness; also touches of light or tropical fruit along w/ sweetness. Body is the same as its light, spicy, has a mild candi sugar and fruit sweetness as a mild fruit (citric and tropical) taste. Well-carbonated with a touch of yeast so goes down easy but is crisp and retains a dry edge and finish to it thanks to minor herbal hops. A little too white-wine like for me as its more crisp than sweet and is rather light-bodied for a saison. Good beer but not my first choice.

Got this in a recent private import. 750ml bottle.

The color of this beer is pale yellow. Nice white foamy head thrones on top of it. Very good looking beer. The head seems to stick well to the glass.

The aroma is floral hops all the way with some citrus notes too. Some farmhouse typical aroma notes there too, funky. Highly carbonated on the looks and also in the mouth. Crisp, almost like champagne. Taste is dominated by citrus notes. Very dry on the finish. Very refreshing. Thin bodied.

The last glass is veiled with all the yeast coming out. Lots of tropical fruits in the aroma now. And on the taste, it appears to be a little bit more bitter and aggressive.

A pretty decent beer and easy to drink. Overall, I really like this one and glad I had 4 other bottles in my fridge!

750ml brown bottle served into a Duvel Tulips.
Bottle says 7.5% ABV.

A - Pours a honey golden color with a massive rocky white head. Diligent retention with solid lacing.

S - Classic farmhouse aroma, tart apples, pears, stone fruit, lemon, damp wheat, subtle spice, bubblegum, earthy grass,

T - Spiced pears, tangy taffy, peaches, grassy and citrus hops are very prevalent and coat the palate with a peppery sensation. Honey kissed malt, damp wheat, earthy and musky. Finishes dry with a chalky yeast aftertaste.

M - Moderate soft carbonation, flowy feel, really carries the flavors across the palate.

This beer really transforms over a session. Sweet fruit when chilled but as it warms the musty and husky wheat grow adding an earthy twist with tart citrus coming out as well. Perfect carbonation. Has some funkiness on the aftertaste. Very interesting and would recommend for sure!
