look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance:
Medium orange colored body, very hazy, with a thin white head. Light carbonation and light lacing.

Aroma:
Slight tang of tart fruits and and a light sweetness. All malt, no hop notes to speak of. Overall, this is pretty dull as everything is too muted - requiring a fair amount of effort to pick up the subtle aromas.

Taste:
Tart fruit right off the bat. A bit of orange and peach provides a bit of sweetness, though, not much else to report on, sadly... A bit of peat character on the finish and in the aftertaste, otherwise the smoked character is way too muted.

Mouthfeel:
Light-medium bodied with good carbonation. Goes down easy with a semi-dry finish.

Overall:
Worth adding to your palate but there is not enough smokey character though.

Cloudy amber with the thinnest of heads.

Scent is hay, citrus, and damp earth.

Tart citrus and sourdough bread followed by grain and grass. Mineral and faint smoke finish.

Thin mouth with low carbonation.

Really great all around. Not nearly as much smoke presence as I'd expected, but far more complex. Well balanced and very easy drinking.

330ml bottle. Footed Flute glass. Pale brass, foggy appearance. White froth, close crown. Fairly good retention. Lasting thin layer on top. Gentle acidic at first -wine like- followed by slight sugar & bready notes. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation but funny palate. Oily texture. Citric astringency in the middle rounded by sour fruity notes - green pears & apples. Low bitterness. Long acidic finish & subtle hops on the aftertaste. Refreshing & easy drinkable.

A-Pours a dim, hazy orange. Even an aggressive, downward pour brings forth only a light, white head that has almost no core, only a crown of outer bubbles.

S-I may have served this initially too cold. Aroma is muted. I do get smoke. Not tart, smells like a smoky Hefe. Belgian spice.

T-The flavor is also tame in tartness but it's there. The smokiness really complicates the flavor. It works during some sips but falls apart during others. Like a smoky, tart apple juice with spices. Finishes with a dried wheat flavor.

M-Bigger and fuller than most Berliners. Finishes surprisingly clean. Carbonation is pretty mellow.

O/D-Interesting. Never had a "Smoked Lichtenhainer Weisse". I dare say, I would take another stab at this interesting brew.

16.9 oz bottle was poured into a snifter.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy golden yellow with somewhat good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Smokey, ham, wheat, and a little funkiness.

Taste: Smokey wheat, tart, ham, salty, a little sour, and a little bitter.

Mouthfeel: Tart, Puckett, acidic, chewy, light bodied, and light to medium carbonation.

Overall: A style I am a little familiar with and this beer is like a rauchbier and Berliner Weiss mixed in him. Delicious and interesting. Might not be for some people, but I enjoyed it.
