750ml bottle 7,5% Abv.
Served chilled in an over sized wine glass.
No bottle date.
Hops: Perle, Simcoe, Citra and Cascade - 38 IBU
Yeast: Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Appearance: Fritz Belgian IPA pours a murky orange-brown colour with a massive off white head. The head displays great retention and leaves beautiful rings of lace as it slowly recedes.
Smell: Mmmm, I love any IPA that makes use of Citra and this is no exception. The initial nose is all tropical fruit with notes of granadilla, litchi, pineapple and strawberry. Other notes include: Orange, grapefruit, peach, sweet grass, some pine, a floral note and some earthy yeast.
Taste: The flavour offers similar notes to the smell, but displays more of the Belgian yeast character. Notes include: Granadilla, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, peaches, a floral note, some pine and the lightly tart Belgian yeast. The finish is lightly bitter and fairly dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, with a high level of ultra smooth carbonation.
Overall: The low bitterness and the great mouthfeel combine to make this one of the easiest drinking IPAs I have had recently. I will certainly be seeking out some more bottles in the future.
