Overall, this is a solid and enjoyable IPA. It looks and smells on point, with a bit of pepper and char that is not a bad thing. Definitely a solid rendition of a west coast IPA.

Yellow appearance with haze bordering on wheat/hefe territory. Aroma hit the pine notes without simcoe abrasiveness.

Taste was good, pine and grapefruit, light pale malt body, not leaning heavy on crystal malt or caramel here. Probably the best priced bomber out there. You get some herbal/woody notes to it, but not so much that you think it was wood aged or anything, just the malt contribution that doesn't go caramel.

Solid 2nd tier west coast ipa.

Hazy golden amber brew with a nice pile of foam in the tumbler. Foam settles down pretty quickly and the mouthfeel is at first sudsy, then sharp. There is a persistent dark, resiny, and vegetable flavor. Aftertaste is quite bitter, with a woody and herbal taste. It's that burnt wintergreen thing.

This is malty and well made, light bodied. It's just kind of icky and gummy. Plenty of sweet malt but the aftertaste is unpleasant. Label on this batch says it's 7% ABV. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Mollie Stone's Market in the Castro.

Appearance: Arrives with the liquid amber colored and capped by an inch or so of foam; modest lacing action

Smell: Toffee malt, some citrus and a hint of bubblegum

Taste: The toffee malt underpins the citrusy elements, with a touch of bubblegum sweetness developing; modestly bitter finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A pleasant drinker but not something that merits a quest

Bottled 1/21/14.

Pours a murky honey orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Small chunks of sediment are seen floating around in the beer after the pour. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and peach or apricot aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and grapefruit juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a great fruity hop aroma and some tasty flavors that unfortunately don't match up.
