Thanks goes to wasatch for this brew.

Poured into my pint glass the beer is dark blood red brown. With black edges. About a finger of khaki head fades slowly leaving a thin coating of lace.

The aroma is mostly roast malt and grain. A bit of dark fruit and coffee are picked out. Smells pretty much like a black beer.

The flavor is very nice. Roasted malt with hints of coffee and a touch of smokiness. Light bitter finish like burnt coffee and hops.

Light body with mild carbonation.

Overall a very nice black beer. Scharzbier are one of the few lagers I can get into and this one does not let me down. Right up there with the well know BB's.

This is Hoppers first bottled brew, I believe.

Pours a black color, some carbonation, little fizzy off-white head, with some minimal sticky lacing. The nose is malty, very slight hops, and some yeast notes, lots of toffee/caramel. The taste is slightly sweet, malty, fruity, with a nice touch of toffee/caramel. Medium body. Drinkable, a tasty brew, kinda surprised me.

A clean black beer with ruby highlights. Little or no head. Sweet malty notes in the aroma at first then a slow build of roasted malt character. The roasted malt bitterness gives a small bite on the tip of the tongue. Followed by a smooth wave of sweet malt notes full of caramel and toffee. The finish is full of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Very smooth and easy to drink....nice.
Thanks John
