A very dark brown, nearly black, color. Small, quickly disappearing tan head.
Chocolate, vanilla, and booze aroma. Maybe a little coffee.
Chocolate- forward taste, bourbon. The coffee becomes a little more apparent. A hint of vanilla.
Very smooth and very drinkable.

Good looking beer: flat black body, firm tan head with good retention.

Mild coffee and cacao aroma, with a sweet hint of booziness.

Dark roasted coffee and bitter cacao; dry woodiness with a slightly sour mustiness from the barrel.

Very smooth and even feel. Little heat.

This is an excellent BA coffee porter, with phenomenally subtle barrel characteristics.

Pours an effervescent mahogany with 3 fingers of mocha colored head. Pretty good head retention & lacing

S: Faint Bourbon notes, some coffee & even a little iron, all fade over time

T: Coffee, a little caramel, faint leafy hops & a little raisin up front. Faint chocolate mixes with muted coffee, vanilla, & dryness as this warms. Finishes with a touch of coffee bitterness, some vanilla & caramel

MF: Medium body, pretty firm carbonation

Just didn't live up to expectations, body was too slight & the nose was underwhelming. I would pegged this as at most a 7.0% ABV. Not a bad offering but does compare wellwith others of this ilk

Pours a deep brown color with a tight creamy brown head that settled into a thick ring. Small wall of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Perhaps a hint of coffee. The chocolate is almost like brownie batter.

The taste is chocolate forward. A mix of dark and milk chocolate and fudge. Again any coffee is subtle. The bourbon is noticeable but not too strong. Toasted pumpernickel from the malt. Vanilla and caramel round out the flavor.

Moderate body with prickly carbonation. Sweet on the palate with enough of a roasted malt bitterness. A tad sticky and a little heat from the abv.

3 beans has been my favorite of the bean bunch. The bourbon barrel only adds to that. Well done.

An excellent Baltic porter from Sixpoint. Pours a thick dark brownish black with a solid tan head that dies down to a thin layer and lightly clinging foam. Smells of coffee, vanilla, oak, and dark chocolates. Taste is relatively the same with chocolate up front, coffee and vanilla on the back, and velvety oak to the side. Some nice boozy heat to this one with some nice cocoa on the aftertaste. Complexity improves with warmth. Although I am not an oak or bourbon barrel lover this is an exceptional beer. Pricey on the growler station, but still very nice and more than solid.
