Pours orange copper with a one finger head. Leaves loads of lacing. Smell is super pungent. A lot of orange and a little sweet. Taste is a huge burst of orange, a little pine, and a nice malt backbone to round it out. Mouthfeel is pretty spot on. Bitterness is just a bit harsh and lingers for a little while. Overall a great brew from Sixpoint. It reminds me a lot of Jai Alai in that it's just in your face with that orange hop flavor and aroma. It's 1% lower so it's a bit lighter than Jai Alai.

Can = Sweet
smell = Orange and citrus. I smelt a faint whiff of dog fart but that could be due to my dogs gas.

Look = Like a Moroccan sunset filtered through Elton Johns amber glasses.

Really though...
Taste: this thing is obviously hopped late in the boil with some scrumptious C hops. I'd say the hops flavor have dominance over what one may consider bitter

There's some quality lacing in the glass.

Oh yeah, 24oz can...yes please.

Overall, for 4 bucks this thing is hard to turn down and I've had the best. Bitterness in IPA's has become 2nd to hop flavor and aromas that come from late boil additions.

This is a fantastic example of this methodology in brewing.

Another fine beer from Sixpoint. This American IPA pours a beautiful golden-yellow with a decent head and light lacing. The aroma is very floral and citrusy. The malt sweetness hits you right away when drinking, very quickly followed by an amazing citrus-hops flavor that is bold yet not too much that it would make this beer unenjoyable. The finish is citrus peel. This beer is crisp, full of flavor and has a very clean end that leaves just the right amount of taste in your mouth. Can't wait to try the other offerings from the guys at Sixpoint !!

Can from the brewery, bb24sep15 2015.

Appearance. Pours a clear gold-amber with almost two fingers of white head that leaves some sexy lace behind.

Smell. Bright and juicy citrus, a bit of sweet tropical fruits, and some light caramel malts.

Taste. Oranges with some bitter rind, some other citrus fruits and floral hops, some lightly grainy caramel malts, just a little sweetness. Not sure when this was brewed but tastes really fresh. Very nice.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, very smooth medium-low carbonation.

Overall. Dangerously crushable stuff. I would drink this all the time if it was available here.

Poured into a Riedel tulip from a can labeled best before 08May15. The liquid is a clear golden-orange, with plenty of carbonation. The pour kicks up a solid two-finger off-white head that leaves lots of lace and has remarkable staying power. It settles to at least one finger that stays almost for the remainder of the beer.

Aroma is wonderfully citrusy and bright - lots of oranges and tangerines, with a sugar cookie malt undertaste. Nicely balanced.

Taste follows the nose - bright citrus up front backed by sugar cookies on the finish. The finish is not as bitter as the hop presence would lead you to expect. Aftertaste is nice sweet candied oranges.

Mouthfeel is light-bodied with lots of carbonation - great for the style.

Overall, a wonderfully balanced and flavorful IPA. This is a go-to for me.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color capped by an impressive amount of foam; good retention and lacing action

Smell: Ruby red grapefruit galore; floral and fruity

Taste: Just enough malt to provide a platform for the citrusy hops to take over; and take over they do, bringing the ruby red grapefruit detected in the aroma, as well as some tropical fruit tones of pineapple and mango; not overly bitter, the finish is clean and fruity

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: If I had an everyday IPA and I lived in Brooklyn, this would be a contender; I don't and I don't but I sure enjoyed it

From a can at Rattle n Hum, NYC. At a declared 62 IBU I can't believe how much I like this brew.

Pours into an amazingly luxurious head that leaves a shaving cream density lacing.

Almost citrusy aroma that leads to a really well balanced & refreshing taste.

Great viscosity.

An overall wondrous experience in the eyes of this hops averse consumer.

Thanks to everyone at Sixpoint for showing the way.

12oz can

A- Hazy light orange with a one finger white head. Spotty lacing on the glass.

S- Sweet orange citrus with pine. Zero alcohol in the smell.

T- Big citrus and pine up front. Quite bitter. Sweet malts in the background here. No alcohol to speak of in the taste.

M- Medium with decent carbonation. Easy drinking.

O- Had this many times and finally reviewing it. A great goto IPA

Miss the old recipe the new recipe is quite good. Lighter bodied which delivers lots of hop flavor throughout, piney with lots of bitter citric rind notes. Enough sweet crystal malt to balance the brew. Finishes super clean and refreshing. Loving the new 24 oz can too!

Outstanding beer from a 330ml can, if there is a draft version I would cut off one of my legs to try it. Truly world class IPA.

12 oz. can into a snifter. Pours a very clear amber with 2 fingers of white, puffy foam on top. On the nose I get earthy-pine, molasses, ginger, plums, and grapefruit. Light weight and easy drinking. Big hops and pine presence up front. Seems quite bitter for only 69 IBUs. Good balance between all the flavors and characteristics. Not much fruit in this one, but I do get some citrusy-grapefruit near the end. Pleasant aftertaste, like pine resin and sugar.

I'm very pleased with this beer. I picked up some of this on a whim when I went into a local store to get some Resin, and I'm glad I did. I think I'll go back tomorrow and pick up a few more.

Pour at Independence Beer Garden in Philly.
Very Good IPA. Near Perfect Bitterness, Hop Flavor and Aroma for an American IPA. Citrusy, Slight Pine, and Resin. A touch of sweet maltiness to balance to bitterness. Just what I want in an IPA.

Had at Redbones in early May 2015. Just as good as I remember, if not better. A go-to IPA when craving proper hops and flavor.

Looks, smells, and tastes a lot better that I remember of it. Here goes:

A: Perfectly clear orange, lots of carbonation, massive head with good lacing. Kind of hard to knock this beer in the appearance department, but perhaps it's a little too clear-looking.

S: Very floral, citrusy, lots of grapefruit. Simple relative to other IPA's, but it does what it does quite well. Some malt to balance the hops.

T: Good, but somewhat simple. Lots of flowers, citrus, and a ton of grapefruit at the back of the palate. Some caramel malt to balance out the hops, but this beer is basically very hop-heavy.

F: Only drawback about the beer. Somewhat watery and light. However, this goes well with pizza.

O: Much better than I remember. One of my brother's favorite beers.

12 ounce can

A = Crystal clear, golden color. Nice head with fair retention. Good lacing.

S = Hoppy. Nice hoppy overtones

T = More hops. Nice.

M = OK, but slightly bitter after taste.

O = A good representation of an IPA. Perhaps a bit more bitter than some of the others.

Excellent, not heavy on the "fruity" hops flavor, more like a rye taste.

The best thing about this beer is the hop aroma. I spent as much time sniffing it as I did drinking it. First few sips are bitter and carbonated. However, as you keep in sipping the bitterness settles and evens out quite nicely. Overall a very fine beer that I would definitely buy more of.

The beer pours with no head and is a bright, clear, amber color.

The nose is subtle, the hops are lightly piney, not overly so with a sweet malt undertone.

The taste is a good mild malt up front, this quickly becomes a moderately bitter, piney, flavor that becomes more intense and more bitter on the aftertaste.

Overrall very good. I will definitely buy this again, especially at $10 per six pack!

Sort of the red-headed stepchild compared to the Resin, Hi-Res Sixpoint offerings. But this is solid, balanced, clean finishing and really satisfying.

I upped the revised Bengali over my review of its previous incarnation - Tiger.
Six Points remains one of my top brewers to watch along with Carton.
This beer is neck and neck with Carton, and Dales Pale Ale - my go-to beer. I might prefer this to Dales! I have to taste them off, same ABV, this hoppier, less balanced.

This is now sold as a 6! great move. I love cans and I love these silver silo cans in particular.

A Pours a perfectly clear golden glowing amber body and a sticky, lasting, rocky head that leaves loads lacing behind. Nice look.

S: Pine forest, salt wind, fall earth, wet grass form a base for fruity, juicy esters of apricot and grapefruit and flowers. Fresh and inviting.

T: Follows the smell. Like Sculpin offers a fresh, juicy fruit bitter ness like a freshly picked tangerine or apricot/sweet cara orange that leads to resinous, piney, biting finish. It lingers a long while, with a balanced citrus fruit and malt. Fruit & Hops over malt for sure. Very fresh tasting, like newly picked and squeezed fruit. (this can dated 9-22-14)

F: Creamy as I like them, medium bodied with medium, tickly carbonation.

Drinkability: Intriguing flavor, fresh, great with food. The mark of a great - must try beer for me - is I must taste it off against my favorites, in this case: Sculpin, Titan, Dales Pale.

THIS COULD BECOME MY EVERY DAY BEER - the silver cans sharing the shelf with Dales Pale Ale, Cartons 077xx, and Cartons Boat.
