Pours very dark and thin, nice foamy head that lasts. Aroma is mostly dark malt, lots of coffee. Flavor is dark roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate flavor, moderate barrel presence. Pretty light bodied. Overall an ok BA beer, nothing special.

12 ounce can into snifter; 2017 vintage, best before 11/7/2020. Pull tab broke off, had to open it with a knife. Pours fairly cloudy opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big medium roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge medium roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, char, coffee bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of medium roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, brown bread/crust, light licorice/dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean lagering, mildly yeasty. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 10.1%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged flavored Baltic porter! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/tannic/drying finish; amazingly soft feel. Perfectly balanced between rich malts, cocoa, vanilla, fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; with solid earthy hops, and mild fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly amazing offering, and world class style example.

A dark fluid that that has a dark brown head. It raises up to a finger and a half, then fades to a thin covering on the top. Some nice curtaining as I sleep with spots and streaks of lace.

Nose is replete with bourbon and and dark malt aromas. Note of chocolate and figs. Mild smooth, roasted coffee and toffee.

Taste is just superb. A full porter malttiness that is rich with roasted grains and sweet molasses and toffee. The dark fig fruitiness weaves in. Mocha follows and flows into the bourbon perfectly. Notes of cherries and faint oak and the barrel flexes a bit. The coffee pops out and smiles. Hops are mild earthy presence. Leaving a touch of bitterness lingering. Bourbon bring some booze but not much really. Dry finish leaves cocoa powder and earth.

Feel is beyond belief. Rich full and velvety. Super creamy carbonation. Good weight that is not too thick but is certainly got some heft.

Superb beer. Perfectly represents what barrel aged beers shoud be.

A - Pour is a dark opaque body, black, with a hint of transparency at the edges, a short tan head, persistent cap, very tight bubble lacing that forms a smooth curtain.

S - Strong hits of barrel and booze, pungent, coffee highlights, with a lingering vanilla line.

T - Front is an acidic bite, coffee notes and powerful barrel and vanilla. Lingering chocolate and bourbon and wood in the finish.

M - Moderate weight, sharp acidic bite on the tongue, and a lingering touch and warmth trailing out across the finish.

O - A fine, fine example of a barrel aged brew, with great flavor and a feel that suggests the bourbon at its heart, boozy and full.

Poured from a 12 ounce can dated 2/17 into a 12 ounce tulip glass. Looks black with a beautiful tan head that settled to 1/4 inch with great lacing before I even taste taste it. Smells like sweet bourbon and coffee. The first sip is hot. Very barrel forward after almost 2 years. I am surprised to be honest. It has a smooth coffee and cocoa taste with a pleasant coffee finish. The carbonation is great and the mouthfeel is a bit thin but I have to keep reminding myself that it is a porter and not a stout. I enjoy a boozy stout so I like it very much. The bottom of the can says enjoy by November 2020 so I will be putting my remaining 3 cans away for a latter time.

12 oz tall can into a Tervis pint.
The brown-black body is opaque in the glass and topped by a large, bubbly, semi-durable beige head.
Bourbon barrel notes dominate the aroma. The flavors brings more dark roasted grain and coffee. There would probably be more coffee presence if this was fresher but coffee is still a major factor in the aftertaste. Despite some aging, the high ABV was still obvious.

Can dated "BB 07NOV2020" into pint glass. Pours a very dark brown with just a slight reddish tint around the edges. Initial impression is chocolate, bourbon, coffee, and a little oak barrel. Nice smooth mouthfeel - thinner than a stout, but spot on for a porter. Bottom of the can says 10.1% ABV, but you'd never know it. Just enough carbonation to enhance the flavors. Finish is smooth and leaves a lingering combination of coffee and chocolate. Quite enjoyable.

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Roasted malt, bourbon, coffee, cocoa, and dark chocolate stand out. Some oak and vanilla in there as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt and then goes into coffee, dark chocolate, and bourbon. Oak, vanilla, and cocoa come out towards the finish. Finishes with lingering roast, coffee, and bourbon

M: Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation

O: The bourbon barrels add a nice dimension to the OG 3Beans. Nice to sip on and savor. Worth checking out

Very smooth, coffee predominates, but thin mouthfeel and generally light on flavor. Not bad, bud underwhelming.
