A carefully aged and calibrated Imperial Stout that's nuanced, delicate and complex. Expect gentle roast integrated with notes of coconut and vanilla in a medium bodied, silky beer. An extreme brewday, with two full mashes of all first runnings... then aged for a year in first fill bourbon barrels.

Great looking imperial Stout the mocha head dissipates rather quickly but it's bountiful and lacing is nice. Color is what I always enjoy deep dark black as my soul. Smell is very timid has mild wood notes soft bourbon chocolate and mild roast. Taste starts off rather bitter and Woody with a nice rounded chocolate note to it that settles to some coffee roast and soft bourbon. Finish in the body ends up quite smooth slightly cold it is very easy to drink despite the almost insane ABV. it would almost be perfect if it wasn't for the strong bitter notes greeting me every sip quickly followed by Woody grit splintery. Far from perfect but for only $4 a can it was one of the better Russian imperial stouts I've had. Well worth trying.

L: Dark and Silky, poured into a goblet glass from a 12 oz. can on 12/21/22, with slight and quickly dissipating tan-off-whitish head

S: Bourbon, coconut, caramel, toffee, and coffee

T: Great! Very easy drinking for the 13.0%(+?) ABV, bourbon and vanilla up front, dark chocolate brownie in the middle, and a coconut flavor that builds pleasantly and increased as the beer warmed (55* or so); sherry notes (pleasant) and salinity (less so) became more pronounced as some palate fatigue set in.

F: Velvety, pleasant warming alcohol, but, again, not as much as the ABV would suggest; slight syrupy sweetness up front with balancing bitterness in the finish; perceived levels of attenuation were reminiscent of a classic English Barley Wine

O: This beer is a rare find and certainly worth the wait. I plan on pairing it with vanilla ice cream for the next can!!

Poured from a thin 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Dark, dark brown pour.. nearly black with thick mocha colored head. Great lacing.

S: Bourbon, roast, and coffee.

T.F: Semi-sweet up front... strong roasted grains and some burned sugars. Dark fruit... fig/baked raisin. Strong cocoa... lighter espresso. Bitter roast brings some nice balance. Medium to heavy bodied... some booze... smooth and creamy. Oak and booze plus more dark chocolate at the finish.

O: An excellent barrel aged stout. A big boozy beer... a nice dessert sipper... and better as it comes up to room temp.

1 December 2019 can poured into an imperial half pint glass

Looks like any other stout. Very dark, Iphone flashlight does not shine through. Tan head runs around the glass and is very thin

Smells like bourbon and vanilla, some toasted coconut comes through as well

Taste is pure bliss. No trace of 13% here. Vanilla pours into a big coconut finish with bourbon.

Feel is silky smooth and quite big.

I really like this beer. I have only seen it once and grabbed 2 four packs. Will grab any more I see. Really enjoying the coconut. Grab this if you ever see it.

Outstanding. Not sure why I never had this before! Will update again while having another can!

Update:

Delicious. A bit sweet for the style, but still great.

13%! Really cannot taste any of that, which makes this even better.

12 oz tall can with a 1 December 2019 canning date stamp on the bottom, served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours clear dark reddish-brown but looks essentially black in the glass. The beige head is rather weak but who cares given that this is the only weak spot for this masterful brew. Leans to the mild and harmonious side for style, with loads of subtle complexities to enjoy. Tasting reveals hints of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted coconut, roasted nuts, dark bread, figs, prunes, wood, bourbon, dates, faint smoke and vanilla. The first sip seemed a bit sweet but the balance with the bitterness seemed just right henceforth. The high ABV is partially hidden.
Overall: masterful.

Overall: solid bba imperial stout. No gimmicks or frills. Just the way I like it.

Picked up a single of this at the grocery store. After a disappointing Saison on a hot summer evening I needed something to end the night on a positive note. Whoa baby did this work.

Poured into a DFH tulip there was plenty of dark tan head over an inky dark brown body. Smell was gorgeous with sweet boozy malty highlights just competing for attention. Taste delivered all the goods and the feel was suitably thick that it kept the feeling alive long after the stout had vacated premises.

I hope I can find more of these to enjoy when the weather is more appropriate, like cold as an ex wife's almost non existent heart.

Poured from the can into a snifter glass. Canned December 2nd 2019.

Frothy and nicely bubbled up three fingered light mocha brown colored head. There's a little bit of staying power here too, with a real creamy fine top. Body color is opaque with a dark and very solid nearly black bodied walnut brown color, mentioned as 70 SRM on the can.

Aroma is very enjoyable. Creamy notes of malt chocloate, and soft chewy oak and hinted whiskey. Hits with a light caramel but thick smelling aroma of molasses and light sweet toffee. Rich and cake like as well. Very impressive nose.

There's a hint of milky mouthfeel on the palate, but the palate still delivers real nicely. Light bodied but supportive, and with a rich flavor. Big hints of milk like creamed coffee and charring carbon all over the palate. The aftertaste is rich in whiskey and controlled milky like sweetness, matching with spicy and splintery wood flavors on the finish. Fruity warmth mixing in as well, touches an almost cherry note with time.

Very nice drinking aged stout here.
