Canned 02/16/19, it pours hazy amber color with a 2 finger thick beige colored head that was full of bubbles of all sizes, dissipating on the slow side and leaving minimal spotty lacing.

Smells of floral hops, tea leaf, caramel, light grapefruit, booze, fruity candy, brown sugar or candied sugar, biscuit, bread with syrup on top, honey and citrus hops. A lot sweet than I expected for a DDH Triple IPA.

Tastes boozy up front with honey, it's almost like a mead. The citrus from the nose is overtaken by the caramel malts, tart orange juice, piney notes, bready notes like a rum soaked bread pudding, candied sugar and sweet malt. Add in the fact that the alcohol brings heat and this lacks the hoppy balance I thought and hoped would be there based on the nose. I like what they're trying to do here, but something went wrong in the execution. It was just alright overall.

Pours a clear amber orange color. A moderate foam head retains well.
The aroma evokes booze soaked citrus and tropical fruit, with notes of grapefruit, pineapple and mango. There are also notes of peach, nectarine, honey and caramel malts, and a touch of grassy and resinous hops.
The taste opens sweet and syrupy while highlighting its malt base; notes of caramel, honey and doughy bread. Nevertheless, the hops are pervasive. They provide a burst of juicy fruit; grapefruit, orange, pineapple, mango and peach. A developing bitterness highlights resiny hops, piny and tobacco like. The alcohol spice is noticeable.
Full bodied, chewy, sticky and a bit syrupy. The finish is resinous and bitter.
This one reminded me of DFH 90 IPA, especially because of its big malt presence. A bit sweet, boozy and too full for my taste, although it’s complexity had its good moments.

Pours a slightly cloudy bright honey yellow with a thick white head with decent staying power. Spotty lacing. Aroma is a mix of tropical and citrus fruits, and a touch of pine. Flavor is sweet fruit in front with the faint bitterness of the hops in the finish. Feel is sticky, medium bodied. Overall a fine beer from Sixpoint.

This is pretty far outside of my IPA abv sweet spot. 5-8% is what I usually go for, but I saw these at the shop today and decided to take a chance. I'm loving the abrasive pungency of the hop assault, in the nose especially. Lots of prickly citrus and not quite ripe tropical fruit absolutely pummel the palate. Unsurprisingly given the elevated abv, the underlying sweetness is more prominent than I like. Today though, it's kinda working for me. Definitely glad I got the pack.

On draft, Loosa Brews AL.

Big, sweet, boozy nose. Malty backbone with bubblegum sweetness, honey, and citrus aromas as well.

More of the same as on the nose. Bubblegum sweetness, undertones of sweet malt. Citrusy but with a distinctly happier character than the aromas. Herbal, mildly grassy, and with a warm booziness in the finish.

Smooth, with a mild carbonation and with some boozy warmth in the finish. Lightly sticky, with a nice residual mouthcoating.

Lively golden pour with fluffy white head. Slight haze, decent lacing.
Nose is overripe melon, some citrus/ sourness.
Tastes fruity for sure, with big bursts of bubblegum and citruswith honey, with some medicinal herbal hints but kept well at bay due to the sweetness of it all.
Feels crisp at first due to the moderate carbonation, then nice and chewy, full, not a drying end. Very nice.
Well it’s a big sipper, but I like this more than I thought I would. I think it’s because I’ve been trying a different brewer’s seemingly endless DDH releases, and something’s tiresome about them. This one seems to have the goods. Not as dank as I expected. Balanced earth, tasty sweet, no cloying aspects. The way I see it, higher gravity does wonders when double dry-hopping hop varieties. Maybe it’s because I’m not a session type person. I want maximum flavor, and not something to get full of quickly (thus tired of drinking). I want a beer’s composition to stop me only when I approach a buzz limit, as opposed to stopping when I hit the belt-burst limit. This one hits the spot in the better way. Big IIIPA for slow sipping.

I prefer this over their regular Hi-Res! I typically only drink double or triple IPAs. I like a hop forward IIPA not heavy with burnt malts. Not sure why some have rated this low, it is an excellent triple!

Poured into a 13 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 3/09/19. Pours a very attractive clear orange with a finger plus white head that leaves some thick sporadic lace behind with nice retention.

Smell is pine, apricot, hard candy, marijuana, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows a tad overly sweet, apricot, hard candy, pine, marijuana, and grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is a big medium maybe a little syrupy, gentle carbonation, a little sticky, and at 11.1% ABV it goes down rather easy.

Overall I like it, but don’t love it. Will always try it every year they bring it out.
