The CrispThe Crisp
Notes: Old world craftsmanship with new, clean flavors. Bright pilsner malts meet Noble hop character. The Crisp, American Pilsner innovation.

We were sixty feet underground when the beer came calling. While sinking tankards in ancient beer caves near the foot of the Alps, inspiration struck -- and at that exact moment, THE CRISP® was born. The can in your hand turns obsession to reality. Now that's Crisp.

Tall thin can into a pint glass yesterday evening. Best by February 2022, so a little late on this one.

Looks pretty good. Faintly hazy yellow body. Decent bright white head leaves scattered lacing.

Malty aroma with a faint whiff of hop.

Well, as the name suggests, its crisp, quite clean, very malty, but there are hop notes woven in, especially towards the end.

Mouth above medium, finish hop/malt mix, does dry out a little.

Overall, have been after this one for a while, happy to find it in my grocery store's mix a six. Decent beer, would certainly have again.

I must explain my high marks for this brew. I realized I haven't had a beer in a long time. I had a craving for an old school macro.. I recalled the beer of my distant past. Bud, Miller, I'd even enjoy a Schaffer or Ballentine Ale to remind me of my original love of brew. One may enjoy the large juicy pub burger but at times might crave a smushed McDonalds cheeseburger. I'd tried this before but it resulted in disappointment. Either they're not as good as they were or my tastes have become more refined and grown up. . Until I bought the crisp. Name was promising as crisp is the attribute I recall about this mass class of brews. I cracked it open, took a small guzzle then came a flood of memory's of old pleasure. A good not great beer. I was looking for good not great. Crisp hit the spot!

"Best by 8/10/22"; drank 6/4/22 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy dull yellow/orange appearance.

An even pour yielded a big off-white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Rye bread, old book & mild lemon notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Oak and old book flavors up front; mild lemon & apple notes on the finish.

This doesn't taste like a German Pilsner to me...but I must say, it was bold and interesting.

Bright clear gold with lots of visible carbonation. Small but persistent head and nice lacing. Herbal grassy noble hops in the nose. Taste has a little malt sweetness which is swept up in a bracing spicy crisp hop bitterness. You know, these old school hop german hop flavors are nice after drinking about a hundred NEIPA's recently. Full bodied for the style but easily drinkable. Pretty much dead on version of the style so if you're looking for a pils this is a good choice.

355ml can. A Brooklyn take on a German pilsner. Fresh and crisp but less steely and more floral. Lots of lemon (both pith and zest). Mouthfeel is smooth and carbonation is relatively low. This could be described as a modern American pilsner, I suppose. A lager with APA hop characteristics. Good.

Picked this up as part of a mixed 15 pack from TW Greenville, SC 7-19-21 for $21.49. Best by 11-13-21; consumed 8-15-21.

Beer poured clear gold with a very nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is nice, grainy and white crackery.

Taste follows the nose with a light pale malt base that displays the Noble herbal and grassy hops that leave a trace of lemony bitterness that balances out the beer nicely.

Mouthfeel follows the naming of this brew, light and crisp with a very refreshing finish.

Overall a crushable well made beer!

From a 12oz slim-line can dated best by 10/13/21 into a pint glass.

Pours a translucent golden yellow with about three fingers of white head. Decent enough retention and lacing.

Smells of spices/pepper, bread, grass and a hint of lemon.

While the aromas were pretty distinct, the flavor is not. A bit of spiciness, light skunkiness and bitterness. Very faint bread. It is tasteful, just not much differentiation.

Pretty strong bitter aftertaste and pretty full-bodied for a pils. Medium to high carbonation.

This isn't that bad. Would have loved a bit more on the taste side as compared to the nose.

Sixpoint "the Crisp" lager can opened in May 2021. The beer pours nicely, a rich golden body is accompanied by a white foam the recedes fairly quickly. The aroma is beery. The flavor starts well, a medium body with a good hop bitterness. The bitterness fades, and that's where the trouble starts. I was left with an unpleasant floral sweet taste in my mouth that really took me by surprise, since I expected the bitterness to linger pleasantly. The sweetness even affected my perception of the ensuing sips, degrading the experience further.

Pours light yellow with a 1 inch foamy white head, which lasts. Moderate lacing to the end.

Aroma is bready, light citrus, slight spice, grass.

Taste is biscuit malt, slight lemon, hay.

Thin bodied, light carbonation. Dry finish.

For a pilsner, it's pretty decent.

355 ml slimline can, as Sixpoint The Crisp Pilsner, from Vinmonopolet Verksgata, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma, with notes of grassy and floral hops. The flavour is medium sweet, and not as crisp as the name suggests. Decent bitterness in the finish though. Okay, but hardly a beer I’ll buy again.

-golden can pour with a slight haze hosts a 3 cm cap of pillowy foam.
The aroma is faint with woody hop notes.
The flavor is of bready malt and the same hop notes.
The “Crisp” lacks the dryness of some others of this style.

Pours a pale gold with a frothy off white head, that leaves a trail of lace.

Bright citrus, cereal grain, flowery bitter herb hop.

Lemon, bitter herb with floral notes, and cereal grain malt Bill.

Real nice smell wafting offa this one; very bready, floral and with some caramel as well. Taste follows, though the caramel kind of dominates, at least up front. Floral hops shine on the back end. Very crisp, clean and smooth. Just an exceptional pilsner.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $1.99. Canned on 8/4/2020, so this is just over 8 weeks old.

Look: Perfectly clear, nice looking golden / deep yellow color. Lots of tiny bubbles rising up the glass. A one inch head upon the pour has reduced to a fluffy, very small meringue looking head just over the surface.

Smell: Not such an expressive nose. There is some grassy, spicy hop aroma along with a bit of subtle floral notes. There is also a crackery or bready malt aroma that smells nice. Smells the part of a crisp pilsner.

Taste: Very refreshing and flavorful. Extremely drinkable as well. Some sweetness and maltiness up front that quickly washes away by the spicy, earthy, moderately bitter finish. This beer is crisp and clean and the finish is dry and makes you want to take another sip. It's a very well balanced pilsner.

Feel: Medium bodied for a pilsner. Decent level of carbonation.

Overall: It's a solid pilsner. For an American take on a classic German pilsner style, it tastes pretty authentic to me. Not the most interesting beer that I've had lately, but sometimes a beer that's not so interesting is just what you need. I think that I would buy this again sometimes.

Orangy-copper on the pour with a some head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is bready. Taste is caramel malt and floral hops. Smooth, clean finish. Very good crisp pils from a great brewery.

Look - classic golden color, clear, with a nice two finger head and lots of lacing retention.
Smell - clean, with notes of straw and a bit of spiciness. faint smell of grassy and floral hop notes as well.
Taste - generously hopped, yet very well balanced with plenty of malts. finish is very clean with malty flavor remaining on the palate.
Feel - light bodied, average carbonation, and a standard suspect in booziness at 5.4% ABV.
Overall - this is a damn good pilsner. Sufficiently hoppy, great malt flavor, and nice clean finish - this one checks off every box for the style.
