Pours a bright golden hue with a frothy bright white head with great lacing. Beautiful simcoe hop nose of grapefruit pine and citrus. Medium to full sized creamy body with exceptional smoothness. the modest malt body holds the essence of this single hop brew together as it delivers it over your tongue as one delicious sip of simcoe hop flavor. Well concentrated and a great hop show case. I love this beer. Why does it have to be draft only and brewed once!?

Stellar, fantastic. Amazing flavor and amazing drinkability.

Served in a nonic pint glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: As served the beer is a lightly hazed copper and gold color with a ½” head that leaves some lacing as it recedes. Sipping leaves some rings and patches of lacing that mostly cling to the sides of the glass. Some foam persists to the end of the beer.

Smell: The aroma has a nice pine-like and tropical fruit character mingling with some herbal notes and riding over some breadiness from the malt.

Taste: As predicted from the nose the flavor is pine-like with herbal notes and balanced out with the malt. There is also some tropical fruit sweetness that is almost hidden in there but that eventually makes its presence known. It all works together nicely.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is medium bodied, clean and crisp with adequate carbonation. The finish is medium long and ends on a nice moderate bitter note.

Drinkability and Overall Impression: Sipping this one was an easy thing. Each sip followed the earlier ones effortlessly and with anticipation created by a desire to have a bit more. I’ll certainly be ordering this one in the future if I find it again. My overall impression is that if one wants a single hop IPA to develop an appreciation for the Simcoe flavor profile this is the one to try. It is well made, enjoyable, and reasonably priced.

On-tap 9/20/2013 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, fruity citrus and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out with a strong hops bitterness. Then some citrus and caramel sweetness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy but there isn’t much balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp but not very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, decent kick, decent representation of style, it’s better than the other two I’ve had in the series but overall it’s just mediocre.
