Can found in the back of the fridge (dated 2017!) into pint glass. Pours a deep browmn with a couple of fingers of medium-tan head. Great lacing. Initial impression is heavily weighted toward the chocolate end of the spectrum. Bourbon is more of a hint; no evidence of coffee. Very smooth and mellow for 10%. Finish is more cocoa and ever so slightly bitter. Delicious!

Nothing wrong with this beer.
Smooth, dark roasted flavor with just a hint of sweetness and the appropriate level of bitterness. Solid all the way through. Ill be seeking out the BA version of this, wish me luck.

12 oz tall can into a Tervis pint (from Dec. 2018 notes).
The brown-black body is opaque in the glass and topped by a large, bubbly, semi-durable beige head.
Bourbon barrel notes dominate the aroma. The flavors brings more dark roasted grain and coffee. There would probably be more coffee presence if this was fresher. Despite some aging, the high ABV was still obvious.

Cola-black body with deep, dark brown around the edges. Small, light khaki head of tiny, creamy bubbles. Minimal lacing.
Baker's chocolate, espresso, licorice, vanilla, charred and damp wood, toffee, fig newtons, dried cherries, maple, roasted malts. Outstanding.
Maple, chocolate-covered fruits, vanilla, fig, light licorice and char, caramel, dark roast coffee, plus some earthy and bitter hops on the end. Sounds very sweet given the flavor highlights, but the residual sweetness is actually quite low. Well done.
Feel is a touch thin with surprising carbonation, but velvety smooth. Very little booze or heat.
For a porter, this is exceptional. Even for a BA stout it's outstanding.

12oz can served in a little wine glass. Best by November 2020. Picked it up at Captain's in Port Charlotte, FL.
Pours black with a small head, medium to low carbonation. Smell is roasty, with some wood and vanilla. Smells boozy.
Taste is moderately similar -- booze is strong, wood is strong, clearly roasty but not as up front as in the aroma.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, surprisingly effervescent. Overall, pretty good.

Dark brown in color with little penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of brown on top. Light lacing. The aroma is of chocolate and sweet bourbon. I’m tasting chocolate, sweet bourbon, coffee, and vanilla. The mouth is thick and sticky.
