12 oz can at fridge temp poured into a snifter. "Best Before 10JUL2013" stamped on the bottom.

Pours out a nice dark dark brown color, not quite black, some ruby highlights when held up to a light. A nice big fluffy light tan colored head that forms a nice cap off the pour. It slowly recedes to a thick, slightly rocky layer with tons of thick sticky lacing.

Cocoa and hazelnut first come to mind, milk chocolate all over. A fruity ester with a hint of alcohol as it warms.

Some really nice melding of milk chocolate and coffee. Some hazelnut, fruity esters and some light bitter roast. A nice range of chocolate flavors from semi sweet milk chocolate to dark bitter chocolate. A bit of piney hops with some lingering bitterness in the finish. Not terribly complex, but still some nice flavors.

I would've liked a bit more body in this beer, finishes a little dryer than expected. The 10% ABV is hidden very nicely.

Not a bad beer, I certainly won't have a problem finishing the four pack, but I'm not really sure if I'd buy another. Had the body been a little bigger, thicker, and the flavors been bigger, more complex, I think this really would've been an amazing beer. Worth a try.

Looks and pours amazing. The nose is a perfect blend of chocolate coffee with that back up of a very nice hint of bourbon. Bourbon on the tongue with that chocolate coffee finish to smooth it all out. Like silk across your mouth with a little bubble cleaner.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. Beige head, moderate to low retention on a dark ruby, almost black body. Clear oily, sticky lacing. Aroma includes roasted malt, cocoa puffy chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Taste closely follows the aromas. Medium mouthfeel, NO alcohol noted on aroma or tasting. Insanely drinkable considering the abv. Really, really a tasty beer, borderline genius.

March 28th, 2013.

On the nose it smells oddly like a bonfire; the oak, cocoa and some very roasty malts come through with might. Along with this melody is earthy coffee.

This beer definitely takes some time to breathe. I was struggling with it at first, its flavors and taste were very reserved but with some time it opens up.

Upfront on the palate it is full of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. As it slides through the mouth the coffee comes out a bit more and as it progresses towards the back of the mouth it turns into liquid chocolate with a touch of oak and vanilla. The finish is bitter and boozy.

The mouthfeel is absurdly thick and creamy, absolutely amazing.

Well balanced and not as sweet as I expected. A really nice beer.
