One of only a couple stops left in the state for me to visit, I was down there the week and had forgotten that there was a few I still had not reviewed. This place is decent. I had gone there for lunch last year, but stop in just for a second on a more recent trip. Decent staff is quick and attentive. Food was decent as was the tap selection. Nothing out of this world, but Magic Hat, and a few other staples making there appearence known. Decent prices as a pint was only about 3 bucks and I could see myself hanging out if I was in the area. Not the greatest place in town, but it works.

We checked The Publick House out while on a business trip last week. We sat at the bar and got excellent service. The wings were great, and they had a good beer selection including Sweetwater 420 on tap. The clientel runs from college age to geriatric including some who seemed to be regulars judging by their beer appearing as they sat down. The food was good, in addition to the wings we had fish and chips which come with the "naked frys" which are house made potato chips. They were quite tasty. It's a cool place with good location a few blocks up from 5 points and well worth a stop for wings and beer.

The Publick house is a place you might just pass if driving down Devine Street. It has some flags out front that may very well be your only indication it is there.

The atmosphere is a bit smoky and definitely English Pub. It is darkly lit and can be a bit noisy at times. The quality of the food and beer is high and the friend who took me there frequents the place often.

The service was very good. The waitress brought our food and beverages very quickly and was very attentive. The selection was decent as well. Not endless, but all of the beers on draft were either standard pub fare or German beers. Nothing like Fish and Chips, a salad and an Oktoberfest after having a North German Pils.

I'd certainly hit the Publick House again. Be sure to map it, and you can also park around back!
