Perhaps their best beer, obtained bottle at Champane's Cellars. Dry, chocolate coffee roast stout. Black, with enormous amount of mocha coloured head. Cocoa aroma, as well as roast and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Similar to Oveltine, if Overltine was a beer. Good drinkability, though dry with sips revealing more sugar sweet and roast bitter.

Pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of black coffee and roasted malts. Taste is the same. Thick and creamy.

Thanks Jake.
Poured into a glass mug, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a small cap of an off white foamy head that softly died off. Mild lace here and there.
The aroma had some dark chocolate and milk chocolate with some dark bready/biscuity yeasty character. Slight dark fruits then coffee and ash.
The flavor moderately leans towards the sweet side with a swift bitterness that happens to show barely any presence. Mild ashy/coffee to dark fruity and dried milk chocolate aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and a sturdy ABV help this beer to have an all around great feel about it. Sly finish of dark fruits and milk chocolate.
Overall, as an English stout, I'd say it works. I'd have again.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.
Black ink hue.
Dark khaki head; a curtain of lace.
Milk chocolate nose.
Thick mouthfeel.
A mix of milk chocolate, dark chocolate & black coffee. A bold flavor that I'm enjoying.

Poured into a beer glass of some sort. Pours dark, like coffee, with a very thin, almost not noticable foam head of tan colour.
Smells like a typical stout, a little coffee, a little chocolate. Not much aroma though.
Tastes like a typical stout, though a little thin. Chocolate or coffee notes, but average, if not slightly watery compared to others.
Somewhat carbonated, but smooth none the less, feels a little thin.
Overall, unimpressed with it, and the cost of the single bottle was a bit much for what it is.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. This was highly over carbonated when I opened it, so it took a while to pour initially. I let most of the extra carbonation diffuse out by swirling in the glass. Zero notes of any infection. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky dark brown head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, floral, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, floral, and roasted earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, moderately silky, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice American stout. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
