Orange-amber color and clear. No head or lace in the sample size.

Mild aroma: dry malts, very light hop bitterness.

This is an extremely dry beer, very reminiscent of Rye Ales. Low hop and carbonation. Moderate body with a very short finish.

Nice drinkable beer; good for those who wish to have a moderately flavored beer without a strong finish.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a nice, bright reddish amber color with just a thin cap of off-white head that had no retention or lacing.

The aroma was very good, a nice blend of malt and hops that a slight touch of a spicy scent. The flavors were very similar, an excellent marriage of the hops and the malt made for a smooth taste that still had a little tang to it.

The body was a little better than typical for the style, thinner than some, fuller than others. Drinkability was very good, this beer was smooth and easy to drink, while still being interesting.

Overall, a very good beer. Worth seeking out when you're in the area.

Notes of bread crust with grassy herbal-hop flavor. The deep crimson color is sensuous. But the Red Ale shows no malt sweetness or hop finesse worth latching onto and the beer tastes timid and bland. There's no smell to speak of.

Though visually clear, the beer tastes muddled and imprecise. Pass.
