I had this one at a BW3's in Ft. Wayne on my way down to Ohio. I knew nothing about it but BW3's selection isn't really all that good, so what the hell. Comes to me with a dark semi murky orange color. No head but I think that is because of the pour method as there were a few bubbles that rose to the top and slight lacing. This beer was served WAY too cold. I've never taken a sip from a colder beer in my life! I couldn't believe it wasn't in ice form. Luckily the food took a bit to get there so I could let the beer warm up a little. It didn't help much. Very bland in taste and aroma. Slight toasty grains and maybe a smidgen of caramel underneath. Finish was quick and somewhat malty sweet. Washed down my boneless buffalo wings quite well, but couldn't a macro do that? This brewery looks like its trying to appeal to the macros drinkers who want to try micro beers.

First of all, I am very dissapointed to hear that Warbird Brewing Company has closed. I have enjoyed thier beer.

I poured the T-6 Red Ale from a bottle to a pub glass. It did not deliver a lot of head or retention. It tapers off into a silky ring around the glass. Warbird has produced a very drinkable red ale. It could use some more hoppiness, but it still has a good flavor. I think I will stock up on a few six packs before I cannot find them anymore

Pours a hazy red color, with a kind of thin head, that falls back to a little ring, leaving little bits of lacing. Looks a little worse than average. The smell is very malty, not quite full on bready, but a bit toasty, nice and caramellized, with a bit of a burnt sugar smell. The hops are kind of earthy, a little leafy, but not very citrus/resinous. Kind of smells alright, better than average, and it's not the hopped up red ale you expect in America. The taste follows with the smell, but there seems to be a bit more emphasis on the herbal, earthy hops. The malt is still cakey and sweet, with a little bit of a nuttiness. And the hops balance the beer well. I kind of think it works, but doesn't wow. The body is a bit thin and watery, which I didn't expect, and the carbonation isn't very sharp, which I would expect to make it feel more full. This is still a good drink. I think I could definitely fit this into a session, and make a night out of it. It keeps me interested with some decent flavor and doesn't overwhelm me. I wouldn't seek it out, but it's a nice beer.

Pours a clear copper color with a large white head that quickly settles to a thin cap. Some lacing is left on the glass. Has an aroma of sweet malt with some floral hops. Slightly toasted and minerally qualities. Semi-sweet flavor. Definate floral hop presence. Slightly herbal. Bitterness is low. Pleasant malt base. Nothing earth shattering but well made. A nice red withouth the big American hops. A little thin in the body but the carbonation is not overbearing. Gives a nice soft and slightly creamy texture. Nice change of pace with the different hops. Easy to drink. Nicely crafted. I hate T-6s but I like this beer.

Thanks splitgrin for this extra.

Nearly copper colored, thin whitish head, poor retention.
Aroma, just like the flavor, is simple, but well balanced and straight to the point. It shows some cookie maltiness, a slight hoppy bite, mostly piney, in an overall light body.
Decent.

Notes from this morning's tasting:

This one pours a reddish-brown. Head retention and lacing are both good.
The aroma is an uncomplicated balance of caramel malt and hops.
Taste is similar with a little added sweetness and a gentle bitterness from the hops. Balance is good.
Mouthfeel is very nice. This one's creamier than most beers I've tried at this point; velvety smooth with a crispness as well and a great amount of carbonation.
This one's drinkable, and even more so with the relatively low ABV.

A - Poured out a clear, bubbly light brown/burgundy color with a small, short-lived, off-white head. It left no lace.

S - It smelled malty and of caramel. Not much else.

T - It tasted sweet and of caramel. It had a biscuity malt profile.

M - It was crisp and smooth. A light-bodied ale.

D - This is an okay amber ale. Nothing to run out and stock up on, but it is drinkable.

good looking reddish amber hue in the beer, a few bubbles rise up. nice head dissipates quick and leaves the slightest reference.

semi sour smells like old grease and yeasty breads. however, that fades into a slightly vanilla and caramel hint.

good, smooth sweet taste. the yeasts come full frontal, but is met with a good flavor of hops midway through the taste. aftertastes of bitter tannins and grains.

creamy mouthfeel, a good balance of carbonation and weight.

pretty decent one here. as long as you keep your nose out of the glass, everything is a smooth and tasty affair.

12oz bottle obtained via SS08 from kirok1999. Thanks for the opportunity.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 2" beige head above the clear copper brew. Head is here for the duration, with heavy thick coating lace. Aroma is light and balanced. Taste is sweet upfront, with minimal hop character, slight bitterness at close. Mouthfeel is so creamy smooth, it is unbelievable, and drinkability benefits there as well. Great stuff.

Cool regional brew from my secret Santa Raznug!

A- Body is a translucent amber with some faint ruby red hues coming through. Pours with a 1-2 finger white creamy head that quickly subsides to an eggshell and retains well from there. No lacing left behind in the glass. Has a uniform faint cloudiness to the body.

S- Nose is very faint but definitely indicative of a Red Ale. Some faint citrus and earthy hop presence can be picked up along with a nice malt backbone.

T- Taste is similar to the nose. The highlight of the flavor is very mild-citrus hops and a touch of grassy hops that have a mild pale malt backbone to balance it out. A hint of citus rind bitterness adds to the finish with what was already going on. What lingers is a faint hint of grapefruit and orange.

M- Medium to high carbonation and a light to medium weight body. The carbonation is not particularly assertive but is probably the most noticeable feature of the beer-giving this ale a sessionable lager-like consistency.

D- This is a very mild, but pleasant red ale. There is a nice highlight of mild citrus that you don't find in most reds. Not the best of the style-but its definitely drinkable, enjoyable and a good example. Wouldn't hesitate to have this again.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass. The bottle gives an expiration date of "11 30 08" so it's about 3 weeks past it's expiration, but in my experience that just means it'll be a maltier red.

Appearance: Two finger head of off-white foam sitting on top of a hazy dark reddish orange.

Smell: Lots of rich caramel maltiness.

Taste: Rich and malty, dark fruits, with a little juiciness and hops on the finish.

Pours a slightly fogged amber with a thin head. Flavor is a nutty, tangy, fruity and twiggy thing. Feel has a fairly active carbonation and the liquid is alright. This is an okay amber. Drinkable, sure. It'd be cool to see this in cans though.

Thanks to tburkhart for this one.

Nice amber pour, with a tannish head.Aroma of caramel, bread, maybe some faint dark fruits,a faint hint of honey. A charred malt and caramel taste with a little dark fruit maybe rasins, and a slight dry hop finish. Way better as it warms, takes on a sweeter note. Nice offering, quite drinkable

Thanks goes out to tburkhart for this brew.

Pours a nice hazy amber color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, with some nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, slight hop, slight spice. The taste is sweet, malty, with a nice hop note. Medium body. Drinkable, this is my first from this brewery, not bad at all, thanks Tim.

Deep reddish amber body, creamy surface with some minor lacing. Random tiny bubbles are visible on their upward journey. Head retention is ok, it settles to a thin skim.

Clean nutty almond aroma, malty but somewhat mild, as indicated on the label "Mild Amber Ale".

Nutty malt flavor, no perceptible hop character, very mild astringency at first that fades once the malt flavors come into play. Dry multigrain bread aftertaste. Very easy to drink, simple yet effective.

Pours a nice clear reddish gold with just bits of head and lace.
Smell is just funky metallic. I notice the picture shows a can and even in the bottle I have the metal is the dominant note. Awful.
Taste is very mild and just a bit malty. Strangely enough the metal doesn't come through in the taste. Huh? Mildly carbonated, very crisp and finishes well.
I simply can't drink any more of this due to the smell. Ruins everything.

Pours a nice pale red color, very see through, with a bit of head and almost no lacing. Nice malty sweetness, not very deep, though, and with no hop balance. Good taste, not great, not deep, sweet with little to no hop characteristics. Fairly smooth, though.

Poured this 12 oz. brown bottle into a Becker. No date but coded 5W4X2F. The body was golden/red/amber. Clear and bright. The off-white head was fine and dense.

Smell was caramel sweet and a little metallic. Nuttiness arrived later as it warmed more.

Taste was more like a nut brown ale than a red ale. Walnuts. Slight biscuitiness. Berries.

Mouthfeel was medium in body and light/medium in carbonation. I really like the Warbird APA, I don't like this one as much. It seems a little confused. They have switched from cans to bottles (?).
