Tried on tap 11 Sep 2009.

Bright golden, cloudy. Served with a lemon slice. Smells yeasty, lemony, slight bit of clove. Starts tart, hint of bubblegum. Dry coriander. light body. Moderate alcohol. Lingering tartness in finish.

Refreshing, good with the Mussels Sambal.

On tap at Luna Park Cafe in West Seattle. I thought this was a house beer brewed by Elliot Bay. Served in a pint glass. Hazy yellow color with no head and not much lacing. Smell had a bit of lemon aroma to it. Taste was decent, as it had the good citrus flavors that hefes should have. Mouthfeel was a bit on the thin side, and a tad watery. This is an easy beer to drink due to its light taste and smooth body, but not the most flavorful hefe I've had.

Luna was my first beer at Elliott Bay's West Seattle location. In contrast to the lesser quality ales of EB's Burien pub, this clouded American-style wheat beer was crisp, dry, and seriously quaffable. It delivered high drinkability and refreshment value on a stormy body of yellow-beechwood color with a lively, feathery mouthfeel that rolled jubilantly across the palate. Every sip arrived like a reward for good behavior.

The flavor is grainy but with polish - there's no chaff or straw - and integrated bittering drives it home with gusto. The aroma is doughy and restrained. Wild displays of lace abound.

An invigorating ale of sharp angles and prominent wheatiness. Recommended, but ask them to hold the lemon - you won't need it.

Pours a cloudy light yellow with a white head that is average. The smell is of grainy sugars and lightly toasted grain. A smooth caramel sweetness is subtle but pleasant, I'm not a big hef man but this wasn't bad, light enough and smooth enough, more sweet that grainy, what I like in a hef, lemon zest was detected. Light to semi medium bodied. Not bad.
